Can you go bankrupt?
Can you go bankrupt?
I don't think so.
I tried to be an average good CEO like in the real world, I paid myself a very high salary and got writ of all the workers who would actually make money for the company, until there was nobody left to make money and run the company into bankruptcy.
to my surprise, I couldn't.
that's for the economics simulation.
even after being millions in the hole, I still can upgrade to newer trains when they are released.
my stock was very early at $7618, but never went lower than that.

and don't mess this up, only one post per year, first come first serve.

Re: Can you go bankrupt?
I'm fairly new to the SMR Hooked forum but damn me if I ain't just a bit squeeky that I got to do the 2010 post ...
BTT ... I have never been able to lay any track or upgrade stations once I'm in the red, could this issue have been fixed in the paych? I don't remember reading it in the patch notes, but I haven't really looked through them that hard either

Re: Can you go bankrupt?
Hi Irg,
Once you are in the red (out of money) you cannot lay track or stations or upgrade stations for that matter. You cannot plant annexes either. The ONLY thing you can do in the red as far as purchasing goes is: Purchase Engines/Trains.
So keep that in mind, if you are cutting it close, you want to make sure you have enough cash to lay in the full route (track and stations or annex at each end) BEFORE you run out of money. Then you can plant your engine even if you don't have any money.
So there is no patch for this as it is not a glitch.

Well, since we broke the string and made two posts in 2010, we left out 2011.
Now we're back on track (pun intended). Here's the 2012 post.
