1. Isenport graphic is small compared to other places.
The Port was scaled down to half size, because a larger port always messed up the terrain. The makers of this industry were using the basic Fishery graphics.
You can change it in the RRT_Industries_MiddleEarth.XML, find the “Port” and change the line <fScale>0.5</fScale> to <fScale>1.0</fScale>, if you want to double the size. If you are using Notepad++ it’s line 695. Frankly I would leave it alone, because the port is always causing trouble.

2. Gold cars look like mail cars.
Yes, they look. Don’t they? And one can not tell from looking at them if they are loaded or not.
3. Tharbad in the middle of a river
Tharbad is a big city of 8 Million Hobbit and according to the maps I am looking at the river Gwarblo is flowing through it. Just like the Seine in Paris or the Thames in London.
Jancsika, what is this black spot?
Dwax! That black whatchamacallit is a pile of coal. It’s in the Building Blocks graphics. I did not made the graphics, I just use them.

As for the instructions and uploads, I appreciate the comments and advice and next time will do a better job. It is difficult to upload a large file.I have cable broadband but I get always knocked out if the file is over 6 MB.

Yes it is a pile of coal and I will see if I can find a building block of it and change it to look more like coal.

Thanks Jancsika you did a excellent map here and thanks for the updates. Good job on adding assests from several maps. We are a fussy lot no not really just providing some feedback to make the maps look more professional.

Nice trains and its easy enough to change the Gold cars back to the origanal ones.

Its great to have a no CTD map well done.

Thanks Burlington_Northern_3140 will try the new graphic.

I have played this map a few times. Firstly to get the feel of the way it runs then to go after the victory conditions. These are my observations.( I like SAMs)
Overall the map is a beaut. With the expensive tunnels you are required to think through your track placing not just burrow through every hill like a rabbit. It takes me a couple of go's to get the track right.
A good aspect.
When the towns develop to a certain stage a message comes on screen telling you it has progressed to a (blank) dot. At this stage all the houses in the 'city' disappear and only the industries are left. Also at this stage it becomes very difficult to mouse over the city to see what it dmands etc.
Some of the annexs are animated and some are not. The non animated annexs load much quicker and when you have 4 trains using the annex its good to get them out quickly.
All industry holes in each city are allocated so you cant pick and choose, again its about routing. in and out. A good thing
The only thing I didnt like about the map was the low return for some of the goods which you have to cart a fair way eg. Oil at $4k into medicine at $5k. Not enough margin for me.
Wasn't able to load a saved game late into the map, it just ctd'd. This is probably my system rather than the map.
The map runs really solid from start to finish even with plenty of bridges and no ctd during play.
Fast trains from the start. Great!
The map is well thought out and good to play. Well done Jancsika, congratulations!

Dwax
Can you port this for your map Jancsika?
Eventually I’ll make all the revisions, but I don’t want to piecemeal it because it will confuse the original files. I had quite a time with the uploads. (Timeoouts etc.)

I’ll have to check into that. Making a scenario one has to play it over dozen times and after a while it becomes sooo boring. Things get overlooked.

That’s from the makers of the Building Blocks. (Snoopy please note!!)

That was done purposely. I was using the oil and wood products to fill the industry slots in the cities. They are not scenario goals. I just ignore them, untill the very end of the game. That is if you need more gold to complete Era #4 than you can start up the oil and wood production to generate more gold in the hurry. By that time money should not be a problem.

Fast trains from the start. Great!

That is the adventage of using SAM-s. Thanks to Snoopy and Company.

This is a very enjoyable SAM map, cleverly constructed, congratulations, Jancsika! As Robber Baron I found the start almost impossible to manage, but once I had figured out the neat money machine around Hobbiton, I was on my way to a great model railroad layout. Completed all goals as Robber Baron 29 years early.

I especially like the superb scenery, expensive tunnels, with so many "eye candy" vistas. For my screenshots, I added "real" water to the rivers, however, because I thought the "painted" ones didn't look too convincing.

In the end, I had a layout with 17 trains, running largely without getting stuck, not a single crash. Very important not to have circular routes though. I could always load saved versions of the map.

Great shots karsten

Only things I have found is the could not produce cattle at the sheep farm, had nitrates, grain and cornmeal go in and out no differance.

Perhaps a seperate cattle farm?

Cornmeal supposed to produce "Livestock".
I normally run a rail line on the west side of the map connecting the Grain Farm in the Northwest to the Sheep Farm and down to the Corn Farm and run on train back and forth. That will provide all the Nitrates,Wool and Livestock needed in the game.

Hiya - Great map, just one question - when I collect livestock, the cars show up as red blobs, and I get the error message "File not found '_v2'". Any ideas where this is cropping up from and what I need to do to fix it ?
TIA - Gordon

Here is how I optimized my money machine. With that, and some optimization of routes, I got a clockwork system, not a single train block on hard routing, robber baron. Great challenge, I must have spent the whole weekend replaying this map to get it just right. Whew!
