Installing custom scenarios - newbie needs help

Post by kirbyk » Tue Oct 09, 2007 9:16 pm

I have no trouble running the maps with Setup Installers but don't know where to place the files in there is not an installer. None of the free-standing files have installation istructions. All help appreciated

The only 'free-standing files' that do not have Installers are very recent. At this point there is only one, Four Bears.
If you are having problems finding the Installers, go into Railroads! Wiki and you'll find them all right there. Beyond that, there must be instructions from the map maker as the contents of most every map is different.

And Welcome! :D

Perhaps I was unclear - if I want to install AZCanyon v2_2 what do I do with the 20 or so files contained in the ZIP

You don't, there is an installer for that.

Sending me to look at Railroads! Wiki was the key. I didn't realize that most of the free-standing scenarios had been packaged with an installer.

Thanks

Eventually all of the maps have an Installer created for them. It is best for a map to be run by several different people to find any possible flaws in it. And while I'd love to see all of the Installers placed at the first post of every map thread, I'd also like to know that anyone downloading a map reads the whole thread, and doesn't just jump to the end and post a question that may already be answered.

And Welcome to the forum!
