Fortunately, one of your other objectives - the New York / Washington immigration - is worth a fair amount of money all by itself, so you should set that up as soon as possible. Run a dedicated and very straight track between these two cities as early as possible or getting all fifty carloads becomes tricky. Upgrade your New York-Washington passenger train the moment upgrades become available, so you can accomplish your goal and rake in the cash that much faster."
Thank you for the quote!
I dare say that hints in this forum and in the wiki help me more than that did though...

Well, the book has some nice pictures for Goods but posting those pages could get me into hot water and they aren't completely linked together so your sorta bouncing between pages trying to link it all up. I'll see if I can translate it but until then I think snoopy55 made a table of goods and there is also a page in the Wiki about Resources.

Okay, there is a nice Excel spreadsheet in the Wiki but it's a little complex so here is a simplified spreadsheet that just lists Resources and their relationships. I will try to add things from mods starting with the Holiday Scenario and post updates.

P.S. while creating this I found the book had some errors and omissions.

Cool spreadsheet.
Assuming the freight classes are
F for Freight
FF for Fast Freight
BF for Bulk Freight
M for Mail and
P for Passengers
'cause I don't know what else to call them, and it's been fifteen years since I played the original...

That's correct, sorry I forgot to put in the legend.
