Thanks snoopy. I never had the plugins. Never would have even thought to look until you said it in your message. :)

I'm trying to add the trains from the Basin And Range map to my all trains XML and it keeps crashing. Can someone take a look at this and see if I am missing something? It says for the Hawaii map but this is an all train file that I use on my maps.

dwax - line 365.....I don't think they use diesel trains in Star Treks time.

When you have a problem like this, make a copy. Then take the original one and delete the second half. Check it out. If it works, add half of the remaining half. If the first half fails, delete half of that. Just keep adding and deleting half till you track it down.

LOL but I never added a star date time to it. :lol:

Thanks choobacca and snoopy, I think I got it stopped from crashing. Can't load some of my saved games, but can live with that. :) That is allot of trains, going to take some out, just trying to stop it from CTD first. :lol:

The one you posted if you try, it will on a new game just give you 5 old steam engines. The rest are gone. If I try the one I was using, as soon as I select any of your new duals it crashes. Going to have to think on this one. :lol:

Just a thought here dwak.

You have updated and double checked

RRT_TrainCars.xml - so all duals / tenders match up with the trains in RRT_Trains.xml global files as they need to match

or RRT_TrainCars_mapname.xml and RRT_Trains_mapname.xml match.

Names_ENU.xml - so your trains show up in the roundhouse with the right name.

Basically check if you duals have matching trains / tendercars - I got real confused doing mine and started renaming duals etc with a different name till they worked and had the correct matching train / tendercar.

If you only use the name and the date, if you wish to change it, you don't have to worry about the rest as the people who originally set it up have done it all. One of the reasons they put all of that data into their RRT_Trains_BasinAndRange.xml was because they wanted to change some of the original things that they set up. Just at a rough glance, they changed MaxSpeed, Speed0, Power, Cost and MaintenanceCost. The easiest way I can think of for what he is doing is just to copy the whole GLOBAL RRT_Trains.xml, rename it to work in his map, and just delete what he doesn't want to change, leaving at least the name. The Tenders are set in the GLOBAL and they are in the RRT_TrainCars.xml GLOBAL.

I should have left the Tender cars / Duals off the engines in the global RRT_Trains.xml as the globals should be as clean as possible.
Then the RRT_Trains_BasinAndRange.xml should add the tenders / duals.

Because now using the engines from the Basin And Range map forces you to use certain tenders / duals on your maps.

I will change this in the next version I upload.

I gave it a try to add the tenders to a traincars xml like this.

<TenderCar>
<szName>GP7DummyYellowbonnet</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>GP7DummyGreenBlack</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>GP7DummyWhiteStripe</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>GP7DummyZebra</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>GP38DummyYellowbonnet</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>GP38DummyGreenBlack</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>GP38DummyWhiteStripe</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>GP38DummyBillboard</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>GP38DummyWarbonnetSF</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>AC4400DummyWarbonnetSantafe</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>AC4400DummyHeritageIII</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>AC4400DummyHeritageII</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>AC4400DummyHeritageI</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>Super Chief B Unit Red</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>Super Chief B Unit Black</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>Super Chief B Unit Green</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>Super Chief B Unit Yellow</szName>
</TenderCar>
<TenderCar>
<szName>SantaFeSteamTender</szName>
</TenderCar>

And it still crashes. Any ideas? It seems if I pick the duals that are mixed thats when it crashes.

I tried this on Hill Vally Steaks and without adding the tenders it runs without any problems. What did you do different to this map snoopy?

choobacca - What you should do is add any enginesyou can as singles, and not change the rest. Once you get that I will see about sorting them into singles and duals. Another possibility is maybe using like:

<Train>
<!-- Single BR GP7 -->
<szName>TAG_NAME_BR_GP7</szName>
<Year>1949</Year>

<Train>
<!-- Dual BR GP7 BR GP7-->
<szName>TAG_NAME_BR_GP38_7_DUAL</szName>
<Year>1951</Year>

This would help others seperate them with future additions.
As to certain Tenders/Duals, I just put a Whitestripe GP7 on the american steam engine, so it's another'put a different line in than the original and you get what you want'. If you change the names so the person can add his own to his map, then he has to do the naming to get the combo to show in the roundhouse.

dwax - upload both your Hawii and your Hill Valley Steaks so I can look at them. I'm not sure if I still have my original or what you did. Also, have you made any changes to the GLOBAL RRT_Trains and RRT_TrainCars?

Well I thought I was not having any problems, now it's CTD. When I add the two engines it will crash. It seems if they are mixed thats when it always crashes.

When you use these do you need to add to the TrainCars_Map_XML? I got these from Warll's The Island. I seen he had no mention to them in his TrainCars_Map_XML so I would try it on mine. :) But now it CTD.
