K-class - those 4 files were in the 2nd Setup ZIP which needed to be in the same folder as the unzipped 1st Setup ZIP. The Installer then opens the file called 'BasinAndRangeAssets.7z.001' and pulls those 4 files out and installs them.

Also, the <szClass>Mail</szClass> after the Gold gives it a mail shipping ability. It can be shipped with mail and passengers or on a train of it's own without slowing down the train like a freight class would do.

I only hope I can determine why my system won't run it.

That the thing the installer didn't work for me and they where all in the same folder.

After changing the mail setting my map loaded and plays.

It has now CTD at loading containers and wont load my saved map. May be the train I selected it was a dual, Im going to use my default train xml and see how it works and put in the new trains later on.

But this map has a customised traincar xml as well

both those xml's in my opinion need to work with the global setup.

The tactonite ore cars cause a CTD for me. I changed the Model and DummieModel to Paper car and it worked. It requires Chicago to the Rockies FPK file, but it still doesn't want to work.

Ok I removed all traincars from RRT_TrainCars_BasinAndRange.xml

I deleted (actually backed up saved and moved) RRT_Trains_BasinAndRange.xml and replaced with my default diesel train and duals etc.

Saved map loads all ore, tanks, double containers, goal, steel all ship ok.

So I this leads to there is a xml ##$$ gremlin with the new trains and there tender cars. As there is so many new ones I tested this by using my files and its a matter of putting the new trains and traincars etc back one by one.

Apart from that everything is working sweet or goods are moving. :D

Chewy - you have a minor problem here. If someone (like me) has your Chicago to the Rockies map installed they already have the 2 tactonite cars in RRT_TrainCars. When your installer searches for the Tactonite cars to see if they are there, it finds them so it passes the installing by. But you are using a different car type. Below are the CttR version and then the B&R version.

Also not sure about the traincar for Automobiles which has Autorack_Car.kfm not as nice as the default automobile traincar.

Is big square blocky and white.

So it wont run without that added to the TrainCarsXML snoopy? I still haven't loaded it into my game yet, wait to see when the gremlins are worked out. :P :lol:

Loaded up on Nitrates and got cute pink cars. See pic. I opened up the NIF and KFM, but found no reference to the Clothing_car_bnsf DDSs it's looking for.

Chewy - I don't want to offend anyone, but was this map tested with a full load of all maps available?


Found it! nitrates_car_bnsf.nif. Lines 84 and 85.

Saved games CTD

First off I want to say great map!! Love the new double trains :lol: Seems i have the same problem with loading a saved game, they all CTD on me :cry: I have a fresh install of SMR with no other scenarios installed.Your map loads fine and plays fine I just can't load any saved games. Hopefully it's a simple fix and we can continue playing this great map, Cheers


P.S Tried all my autosaves and regular saves again still CTD's for me :cry:

I had one save game crash on me once but it loaded fine on the 2nd try.

I confirmed that something in the global xml settings from the new Basin Range install was causing my new Florida map to crash and crash and crash...it was running perfect before. What global xml changes were made that would cause that?
I changed back to my old settings and everything runs fine...for both mine and your new map... :shock: "?" Leaving only your new industries/goods etc. I also had a difficulty setting made-up for testing maps, tons of money etc...it wiped that out putting only the default list in the game. No more auto installers please.

K-Class...autocars look just like the version they made...I like the new version auto car better. "Kids used to throw rocks at the open auto cars back in the 60's." Railroads put a stop to using open auto cars somewhere around the late sixtys early seventys.

Great job on this map...the trains are awesome.

EDIT//also did some digging as Snoopy55 has found...we need to make sure we make-up some unique names for new cars and such...we are starting to bang heads and CTD with like names on cars and other files... :D

could you just post:
all the files used for this map
means:
all the local_map_files,
all the global_files
and the fpk (those are already posted)

does the installer option of an other dir works, notmally the installer installs in the custom assets etc... ignoring my specified folder...

... kind of stupid to have an installer-only-version when it is advissable to backup everything,
moving 1 folder is and will allways be the best way! or do we all enjoy backing up the whole custom assets folder???

keep up the mess?

hello,

First off congrats to choobacca & Big Papa for this map.

Everyone else we can assume after the previous posts:

1. There is a xml bug with the xml with all the new trains and tender cars that cause CTD's and maps not to load. I have proved that as per my last post removing all reference to the tendercar entries in the RRT_TrainCars_BasinAndRange.xml and replaced all entries in RRT_Trains_BasinAndRange.xml with my default diesel train and duals etc. Next task is to put them all back one by one to find the bug. (dwak this is the same as to get tendercars working and duals as you tendercars wont work in this map as its not using the global RRT_TrainCars.xml, what I did was make it use the gloabal RRT_TrainCars.xml)
snoopy55 you have saved games and exited and tried to play these saved games??

This could be a conflict with my global train files but after the above actions for me no CTD'd and saved maps load.


2. 2 tactonite cars already in in RRT_TrainCars
3. clothing_Car_bnsf_NORM and SPEC files are missing
4. We need all the files used for the map (have the FPK's) but sounds if missing from action item 3.
