I can 3 or 4 copies of a map on my drivesthat I moved for one reason or another. The copy I have, the first one, has mountains and trees only. Check your Recycle Bin to see if the one you deleted ins in there.
i didn't actually delete the files completely, i restored everything after trying out the map from the zip file. sorry i should have made that a little clearer.

Hey Dude - go to Misc and check out the Scenario Manager. This was great when Akmad first put it out, but when they upgraded to V 1.10 it stopped working. Akmad's now got a V2.0 so it should help. I'll find time to play with your map in it. Also, do you have the X-Y locations of all your cities? Not the ones in the map, but the ones for building the map with the Editor. They change when the map is created by the program.

Iron - I checked out the map and it kept crashing after 5 to 10 years. Don't know what the problem was, so I created an edit map and transfered all the data over. Works fine, and loads with 3 AIs, tho I didn't play it. (Played with one, and checked out all Goods)

The attached ZIP includes the editer map along with the Scenario XML for it. It won't edit with the working Scenario in place. Don't know why.

attached is an installer based on the snoopy XML files (above) and the most complete looking "map" files from IronDukeGeorge. I have succesfully loaded with 3 AI, I have not fully played this map through but the scenario goals are available.

OK guys

This map plays smooth & runs good until you save it. After you load it back in it crashes eventually.

Does any one know how to read the log file the game generates ( there are 4 ) ?
These are the last 3 lines of the Netlog_0 file

[44185.063] DBG: WALKTIMERSET: 2035, 2
[44185.063] DBG: WALKTIMERDEC: 2035, 0
[44185.063] DBG: RANDOMEVENT: 2035

The game ended after the Random event 2035. Anyone know what that might be ?

Also the Audiolog file contained this

Slappy, this scenario calls the standard RRT_Events.xml. This most likely generates a random event involving a good that is not included in the scenario. Result: crash.

If it is the Events XML, try the zip below. There is a XML for the events for Goods used in this map, tho they are for US. (If this takes care of the problem and it is wanted, I can try to do one for South America) The included Scenario XML has been edited to use it.

A bunch of xml files in this package are declaring xml encoding="us-ascii".

Does railroads use utf-8? No idea here, just taking a stab as things look ok at first glance.

One thing I can say for sure is, if any non-ascii character is used in a
place where you can not represent it by a character reference (for
example if an element name or the content of a comment), uses such a
character then you will get no output and a fatal error that your result
can not be produced in the specified encoding.

Is this messing with the internals of Railroads?

I have not seen anyone else use this in the declaration of the xml.

OK Snoop
Put your files on.

Tried a saved game I had & it crashed. Started a new game & it ran smooth all the way to the end. Saved a spot during the game as a test, then loaded the saved file, still played smooth all the way to the end. Now the only problem is it crashes trying to render the end of game screen. If you can solve that heres one more for the working file.

G3mInI - the only charactor I've seen this on is the British Pound (leave it to the Brits). What are you using to read these files?

Just wanted to say thanks lots for this map.
It's my favourite of all the user-created ones.

If i had to criticise i'd say it's a little too easy. I finished it with 2 eras to go on robber baron.

But altogether, great job!

Hello me again

Just thought I would try this map and as I use a modded trains.xml file I checked RRT_TrainCars_Central_Andes.xml

I see this has got TenderCars entries in it.

As I said I run with global xmls and modded train.xml files and the tender mod so for me I had to remove the tendercars from this file so my dual trains showed up.

I downloaded and installed Setup_Central_Andes_1.0a.zip :D
