I went in and looked at some other maps that you made, and saw that they all have Nameless city. I wonder what caused that?? I never seen that befor. Would the Christmas map had caused that?? Is there a way to fix this? Its in the Mexico Florida and the others that you made. The games that I have saved are alright. Just when I open up a new one is where the problem is.

Nameless city comes up if it can't find them in the names file.

Which shouldn't be the case since mine use the 1.10 naming scheme.

A side note with the crashing stuff, for me I noticed my game is crashing sometimes when the autosave goes off after long periods on the large maps.

Ontario map just crashed me out..... I'll have to keep an eye out for when it autosaves and see if thats what's causing it here as well.

I turned off Autosave and played for at least a good hour without a crash. I added a lot of trains and tons of track with no problem. Maybe autosave kicking in while in the middle of doing something cpu intensive like laying a large section of track causes problems? I guess more testing by more people is required to know for sure.

Okay since turning off autosave I played a whole round of this map without a crash. I also cut the amount of trains loading in this map from all to just a certain amount.

Need to make the map harder though, going to set the game speed to normal and see how much harder it gets with the time.

Odd, I don't have autosave enabled and I now get a CTD with all the new maps. The only map I don't crash with is the Florida map. The new Ontario, crashed straight to desktop when I clicked to start it.

The same thing happend to me. The reason of it i found in the Scenario.xml
You have to add following lines or check the content.

<NamesXMLFile>RRT_Names_XXXXX.xml</NamesXMLFile>

If you used the scenario editor by Akbad on it, it will remove lines it doesn't reconize when it recreates the xml as his latest editor doesn't support the new xml codes added. This would prob be another reason some of those with the Santa board get unknown city as the scenario editor would write them in the city file like that cause it can't read the names from the names.xml file.

<NamesXMLFile>RRT_Names_Ontario.xml</NamesXMLFile>

This is correct. I had to edit my Names_xxx.xml to get the proper names back and stop getting the Unknown Cities problem.

This line
<NamesXMLFile>RRT_Names_Ontario.xml</NamesXMLFile>

do you put it in the C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads! file?? Or a different one??

Or to all of them in seperate maps?? I have akk of Daryl's maps do that, it open's up and the all have the Nameless city.

That file should be right in the scenario folder and the command line for it in the scenario.xml file.

1.10 allows this so you don't need to edit the names_enu.xml anymore. Akmads Scenario editor will virtually make the maps naming broken and useless because he has not updated it to support the new format.

when you download my maps they are good to go as is and you can delete all my old city codes from the names_enu.xml file.
