Florida Gold Rebuild/Upgrade
Re: Florida Gold Rebuild/Upgrade
Sorry guys...had a couple mini strokes and then a heart attack a few weeks back. I will be completing this big upgrade. Have to scrub through all files as it has gotten quite big. The new florida gold map size is 28. The map runs smooth and fast...not a hitch running the scenario all the way through. All the cars are longer new versions. New engine sets as well. Matching passenger cars for each passenger rail name. The scenario takes some time to play, so I have tested the auto and regular saves through out without a single problem returning to my saved and auto saved spots. I will still need a few weeks to sort out a few items, but it should be complete this summer.

Re: Florida Gold Rebuild/Upgrade
Good Morning!
I've been trying to play the 2008 version for about 100 houirs. GREAT map by the way. But I'm having some crashing problems. I get through the first era but when I start on the second it always CTD. I've tried all sorts of things but to no avail. I've got a fairly powerful computer with 16 gigs of RAM and am running the 3gb fix on a windows 7 pro HP... Can you tell me what could possibly be wrong or is it just me?
Any help would be appreciated because I'm now OBSESSED with this map...
Thanks,
Mike...

Can you upload the version you use here for me to check? There are different versions in circulation, and not all are originals by Lowell.

OK... Tried the version I think you suggested several times. Got a little bit further but still crashes every time. I'm having trouble understanding why because I can play BIG scenarios like Monarchy and Australia Gold without a hitch. I'm baffled!

By the way, the sz author line says bobby/lowell...
Re: Florida Gold Rebuild/Upgrade
I agree. There are some minor .dds problems (attached), but they are not the cause of the crashes. A while into the second era, one of the cities tries to grow and crashes the game.MasteRyder wrote: I'm having some crashing problems. Not sure how to fix this. Possibly one of the city buildings is misspelled. Maybe someone with free time to check the xml can figure it out.

Morning,
First, thanks for looking into this. I'm using the SAM. I can work with some XML's but don't really understand all of them. I'm an intermediate user. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

That is what I did. There are a lot more file issues with this version, but none are deadlysnoopy55 wrote:Download the one in the first post.
I have added a modified City.xml. Replace it in the UserMaps file to fix the crashes. See Key West as an example of the neat new city style.
Its good to be able to play this delightful map to end again.
