Only 12 choices of industries to buy?

I can make 100 industries,
but at the game itself it will only show 12 possiblities to buy from. :(
Is this correct or is there a way to do so?

I found this out also :cry: I wanted more, but Da Man :twisted: (Firaxis) will not let it happen as far as I can tell.
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

is it maybe possible to have already some industries preinstalled at a village wich are not sellectable in the interface? :?

Yes, you can have every one installed, I just don't know how to control the ones that show. Mess around with a map and change the order of the industries, like 12 plus 5, note what shows, then move the 5 to the beginning of the XML and see if it changes.

i'm using citytypes changes now instead of industries, they can also take in and produce out goods, but then it will be for every city of this type...
that's were greater city types can help, but still i think there's a limit of 6 types i think and their grow-cargo-needed is heigher...
(i was thinking also to change order, maybe later and not so confident with this way of working)

i had also problems with goods, i was adding, is their a limit on the number of goods you can use in the game? (it looked like this)

If you look at my Hill Valley Mess, it would only run so many Goods or Industries. As it was for RedKnight to use in research, I really didn't pay that much attention to it.
Also, if you look in this section for "A pile of requests and questions!", on the second page you will find a zip I did called "Adjustments.zip" This adds another playing level which starts you out with $500,000,000. This is very handy for checking out maps as you don't have to worry about making money to check out things you have added or changed.

Wich industries will be showned if more then 12?

TEST:
- I had the choice fish-cannery and not the text-mill
- I copied the text-mill at the position of the fish-cannery and vice versa
result:
choice cannery is not selectable anymore
choice textmill is not selectable
the rest of the choices are most the same except 2 of them dissapeared and 2 new occurred

Remarks:
- Yes, changing the order in the map_industries.xml file does make a difference
- No, it is not logical (not that i can see)

ps: i've easily tested this with the file Uber-tropolis.zip

- Someone an idea? (alphabetic ?) (global xml file maybe an impact?)
- Maybe further test-result? Ifso? i'll let you know or lett me know! :wink:
