Designation for Dual Engine Maps
Designation for Dual Engine Maps
Could maps with dual engines either have their own subcategory or the maps using them be designated as such? I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but except for diesels, having two engines on a train instead of one engine and a tender looks stupid to me.
Re: Designation for Dual Engine Maps
You are not the only one. Snoopy thinks so too
I think that they are cute. Of course I am not a real railroad man.
This whole game is actually looks more like a model railroad that you can pick up at Walmart or Targer for Christmas.
As a boy I always wanted a Merklin model railroad, but could not afford it. So this is the closest!
You always can edit out the dual engines, they are in the RRT_Trains_MAPNAME.Xml file.
Every engine has a separate entry. They are between these two lines.

Re: Designation for Dual Engine Maps
Thanks for that. But I would like to know they are dual-engine maps before I download them.

Re: Designation for Dual Engine Maps
I've downloaded most of the SAM maps, and after checking those I had not played, Jancsikas are the only ones with dual engines. When they posted the Amerigonia SAM that had dual engines, they added the word Dual to the name. Simple way to do it, or adding the phrase 'Dual Engines' to the post.
Is it dual steamers, dual diesels, or both that you don't like?

Re: Designation for Dual Engine Maps
The pont is that the player has the choice to use single engines. I belive even maps with duals have a few single in the roundhouse.

Re: Designation for Dual Engine Maps
Not looking for a debate my man, just a way to let anyone know which maps have duals.
Jancsika, you could either do a set of your maps that do not have the duals in them for Greybriar and any others, or he could ask the guys over at Bobby's Rails if they could work up a set as none of the ones they did have duals. (AmerigoniaDuals_SAM got pulled to be made into a SAM2 to get the duals working correctly)

Steamers. Dual diesels look realistic enough and I suppose so would electric.RockyNarrowGauge wrote:Is it dual steamers, dual diesels, or both that you don't like?
But don't make any special maps on my account. Just put "Dual" in the title as RockyNarrowGauge suggested or somehow make it known that it is a map with dual engines.
