Multiplayer maps

Post by Ungabunga » Wed Nov 07, 2007 4:18 pm

Hey guys, Love the maps :) Thanks for all your hard work I can't even imagine how much time and effort must go into some of these things.

Quick question though, my sons and I love to do multiplayer on Railroads! (home network here). Iis there an easy way to take a map like Arizona Gold and make it more MP friendly? Same question for some of the others like Scrooge and Amerigonia. While I know the developers didn't design these maps with MP in mind, the maps are so interesting it would just be cool to try it out in a semi normal (regular MP maps) way.

Thanks

What do you mean by 'MP Friendly'?
The maps can be played in 3 mods, by yourself where all you worry abouty is making the Victory Conditions, playing against the Bots or against others online and trying to buy them up, not worrying about the Victory conditions, or the third way, gonig for the Victory Conditions and playing against others.

If the third way is what you're looking for you can do one of two things, either lower the quanities needed to make the Victory conditions or lengthen the time by slowing the clock. Or you could do both.......

I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

MP friendly would mean using the same map but reallocating where assets/towns are placed. I did try to run amergonia just for kicks in MP and it crashed :(

Victory conditions on the maps we play on are just "own your competition by ____ " so that really isn't a worry.

Is there an easy way to change all those things? I'd do it myself if it were newbie friendly enough :)

Go to this site on the Wiki: http://www.hookedgamers.com/wiki/Sid_Me ... o_Info_XML

From there you look into user created maps that have them and see what they did.

This will explain the time sacle: http://www.hookedgamers.com/wiki/Sid_Me ... :Interface

Last but not least, ask your questions right here!!
