I want to edit some traincars. Some are much too big but in the xml´s the tag "scale" or "fscale" dont do anything to the cars.
So my question is: Is it possible to make the model in the traincar.nif smaller?
I got nifskope but i did not find anything that would fit

Yes, the nif does have a scale attribute.

Okay, I did some testing and changing the Scene Root Scale does not do it but when I changed the MD NiNode Scale to 0.5 I got this:
