Freezing up

On any of the maps that I download and install using the installers provided, they show up as selectable scenarios. When chosen as if to start a game, the loading screen starts up and freezes. I can't even ctrlaltdel out of the game and so have to restart my computer. Any ideas?

Try starting SMR, start a NEW game, then return to Main Menu & LOAD the desired scenario. Some have had better results using that sequence.
The theory goes that it has something to do with the files that are loading at game startup, or the previous crash exit, but there is a lot not known about this problem.
