I´m currently building a scenario and want a certain city to be the only possible start location. I hooked "start location" at that city and saved it. XML file says:
Code: Select all
<bIsStartLocation>true</bIsStartLocation>
for that city and
Code: Select all
<bIsStartLocation>false</bIsStartLocation>
for all the others.
but in spite of everything the start location is put randomly every time i play the scenario. though i play without AI opponents.
how can i make sure that there´s only the start location i chose?
must I choose a minimum number of start location? like four maybe? so that every potential player has his own start location?

From experiance of tryingto do the same thing alot, 'dar ain't no way'. It seems to be hard wired into the game that if it doesn't get a certain number, 4 I believe, tho it may accept 2 or 3, it puts them where it wants to.
Now, can you do a little research and see if it will accept 2 or 3? You have the map and the need, and the Wiki needs the answer.
Pretty Please....with a 2_8_2_Mikado on top...... I'll even throw in a tender........
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

thank you, snoop!
that´s what i guessed, but for it´s my first scenario, there´re so many things i´m testing, such as victory conditions, changing in- and outputs of industries, advancing the map and so on, that i put back this issue.
anyway it might be a good idea to do it first, because it´s quite annoying to be spawned in the middle of the outback every time, if adelaide is the place i want to start at.

Ok, I´ve got it!
It´s got to be at least 4 start locations! no less.

Thank-you my man.....1 test down, 999,999 to go
That sounds like info for Wiki.
As you build that map, work out one thing at a time, otherwise it is difficult to find what went wrong.
