Rookie Looking for a Mentor for new Map series

Post by Lokius » Sun Aug 02, 2009 6:43 pm

Hello,

So I have done a bunch of research on your site, and a bunch of playing on your maps. Thanks so much for all of the info you have put together.

I am interested in building some maps, and could really use some help. I have looked through the site pretty extensively, but I feel like I still need a good 15 minute chat with someone experienced to piece together where to get started.

Here is what I am thinking for a map series...

I want to do a Civil War map series. I figure there is probably some east coast terrain I can use already out there, which would hopeully mean I don't have to deal with DEM as I don't have photoshop.

I like the maps in which people need to be shipped from cities to resources to be converted into resources and want to use that concept.

I haven't quite decided on the economy yet, but the objectives would focus more around getting people, weapons, horses?, and medicine to the various battlefields.

At any rate, if anyone has the time to jump in Ventrilo (free voip software) and chat with me I would really appreciate it.

Well not much help is still browsing here. Just a dead forum. Look for help at http://eric.bkbobby.com/index.php. Alot of help is hiding out there.

Actually we are getting a lot of hits. If you woul look at the Maps for Everybody thread where the SAM maps are posted there are a lot of downloads.
So don't bury the live ones.
