I love the screen shots...is that some sort of port or distribution center in the front left? It looks like the factory building close to shore. Everything looks spaced out just right too. The mountains are a real nice touch as well. After seeing the first landmaps of Australia that Dr Frag made...I'm sure this map will be a super map for sure. ...can't wait...great work.
Another Sunday and I have reached Canberra! Hi CeeBee, thanks for your kind comments. Its a 17x17 map, I'm afraid, because it was first intended as a demo, back when Dr Frag initially developed the way to use really large maps. Having said that, he really had to squish Australia to fit it all in.
Thanks Lowell, for your encouraging comments. Yes, that's a harbour building down on the shore. It is sort of timeless, but if Rodea gets his port building ready, I might be tempted to add the lighthouse!

Wow...17x17 sounds great. I think the lighthouse looks good even if the lamp animation can't work. I think that is a great idea. Do you work-up the clouds a tad in photoshop maybe? The sky looks real good in your screens. Maybe we need anouther screenshot...say of Canberra!
EDIT//on second thought maybe you are using the UK shyline in the scenario...I know the clouds look different with that setting.

The default one for the US game set is the one I highlighted in green. Maybe the UK version of the game starts out with the UK shy setting ...that was my thought and question...

Wow, Rodea, your tip to enable the RRT_Shader works brilliantly. See this new industry in Canberra, which is called "Politics". It generates people traffic (and it should generate loads of mail as well, I guess). It currently costs 1 Million to buy, but I guess I should change that.
Anyway, this is a model by Asio, and it displayed the usual grey in grey. Look at it now! A "white house", if ever I saw one. Bravo!
And special thanks to Asio for letting me use his models in the Australia map!

Whew! Easter came and went and the transcontinental connection to Perth has been made! Lowell, I don't go through Photoshop normally, but my screencapture program has a contrast enhancing option, so I try that to see if it improves the picture. Having said that, I thought, why not experiment with Photoshop for a change, this is what I came up with ...
