Editing train engines

Post by Lowell » Mon Jan 14, 2008 7:36 am

I am using Corel's Paint Shop Pro. When I erase the background like for clear areas around the wheels...I get white edges. I even tried zooming way in to get the edges close. Anyone know where I can change that to black or get it to where you can't see a seam? If you look close at the wheels you see some of it. You see it a tad more in-game when close-up.

In this picture I also need to remove the players colors as the blue is showing through the southern red hood making it purple. Seems I saw that in the train skinning kit.

These white seams bother me, the games models don't have white seams.

EDIT//I guess a second question would be is there an easy way to remove the player colors.

Well, found that Corel stinks for getting the transparencies done. Gimp works well enough...thanks for the idea, haden't thought of it.

I found how to take off/on the player colors...maybe later I look at the 4400 dummy unit and get the player colors to pop up on it.

The red came out a tad too bright and needs toned down/darkened a tad, but here is the start of the Southern engines...tender is next.

Try looking at this:

Raolroads! Wiki (above, left), 4 Customizing the Game, Scenario Information - XML Reference, 2.17 RRT_Trains.xml.
There you'll find 'MaxSpeed' and 'Speed0', along with an explanation.
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

Depending on where the mapper put the data, RRT_Trains on the EXE side of the game or RRT_Trains(MapName).xml on the my games side of the game.
