Trees?

Post by frago » Wed Feb 28, 2007 8:37 pm

Hello I have noticed that in some of the screen shots around here people seem to have trees in their terrain.

Can someone tell me how I get trees in my game?

Yes, there are all kinds of clutter in the game like trees, rocks, cactus, shrubs. You probably need to go to Options-->Graphics and increase some settings.

If you're making a map of your own, you go into the Terrain Editer in the game and click on the picture of the tree. then you choose the tree or rock or whatever is there you want, choose a brush size and click on where ever you want trees. If you want the ground to change, click the box on 'Modify Terrain Texture' at the bottom of the screen.

Also, if you want the ground color it gives you but not the trees someplace in your map, left-click to put trees and ground cover, then right-click to remove the trees. It leaves the ground cover there.
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

Oops, I hadn't thought about map making.

And isn't tree ground cover just Forest Grass in the textures palette?

That I don't know, I just went into the Editer and made notes on how to do it, noticed that interesting item, and noted it. It's an easy way to add it between groves of trees........

In the editor, it is the texture named Forest. But as snoopy states it is easy enough to right click and delete your trees and leave the forest texture behind.
