Ooh, this is cool. We can create huge maps now!
First i do need to get some more ram though... 512mb just doesn't quite cut it for 625 square maps. :P

Uhhh, I don't know if this is fit to be Wiki'd. This is just an experiment.

I have 2GB and I only played the 256 map. The other two I just loaded them into Single Player to see if they would load. I will play with the 400 map a little to see if it crashes and I may make a better Australia if it works okay. Don't know if you can add stuff to them in the Terrain Editor and save them sucessfully yet either.

Dr Frag - if you manage the 400 map, use the X Y numbers for the 256 and multiply them times 1.5625. that should put them in the right spot without the Editer.
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

I loaded up the 625sq map, it uses approx 1.25GB ram and is stable through a number of years of play, unfortunately there is only one town in the test map, but that is ok lots of industries. I connected all of them to the Nameless City and let it run for about 10 years. Didnt notice any problems except memory usage was pretty high and only with shutting down RR was the memory freed up, RR freed up about 350MB when I retired from the 625sq map, leaving around 950 (or so) allocated.

Where do you place these maps? I placed it in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!\CustomAssets\XML\_SCENARIOS_ and could'nt see them.

dwax - they show up as green screens with a dot in the middle. Open each folder and open the RRT_Scenario XML for each one. The top line will have 'User Created Map' in it. Delete that and replace it with the map size, such as '400 Sq Units', save it and go back in.

If you plan to edit them, put them in the 'UserMaps folder along with the .SMR_Scenario files.
