Help!!!For Install New Map

Hi,

The game application always crashed when Loading the new map which download from this great forum, and I manged to installed the map into custom folder followed with the Install Guide in FAQ and Installation Topic.

Anyone could help me???

make sure your installing all the maps into an empty directory, if you have more then one user map loaded you will frequently crash, view the forum post for installing SAM maps which is a sticky at the top of the mods-map page, follow those instructions excatly and you should be pretty much crash free

Thanks for your kindly support, but it still crashed as follow the Guide of Install Map Topic,

Please sees the attached file which show the screen shot of my configure Folder, the Game Auto Generate 4 folders, Custom Asset, LOG, Save, Screen, and I copied the Spain Map folder into Custom Assets, and when Loding the Map (Miscouning Rival) the Application NO Response.

The “UserMaps” folder is missing!!!
C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!\UserMaps\Spain
This is what you have to do:

Step #1:
This is how the directory C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads! should look.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Step #2:
Copy and paste the “Spain.Zip” file in the “UserMaps” folder.

Step #3
Unzip the “Spain.Zip” file into the “UserMaps” directory.
This is how it should look:

Step #4:
Now you can play the map.

Thanks for your kindly support.

Well, the Folder "Usermap" doesn't not exist, and I created such folder and copied the Map into folder followed your guide, the other Folders are Empty, but when choosing Maps in the game, the Spain Map seems not to be loaded, only 9 maps provided by Game itself.

Please post a screenshot of your Usermaps directory so that we can see what is wrong.

this is my blank slate for loading a fresh map, just make sure to open the settings file and change to your own resolution the one in this is set at 1680 x 1050. just re-name the sid meier's railroads!! folder you have now just add a letter to the end or something, and use theone in this zip folder it is a blank fresh start ready to load in a new map jusr remove the words starter set form the end so the folder is named Sid Meier's Railroads! and then load up a map from the forums into the user maps folder

Well, how sad, it is still can not work normally, you could see the upload file, I unziped your folder to replace mine compeletely, and the Map Files Only put into "Custom Assets" folder, and then could be dispaly and chosen in the Game, also when loading to "Miscounting rievts" the Game NO response.

I have tried to put Map files into "User Maps", which could NOT be shown in Game only 9 maps provided by Game itself.

Try this way....
Rename Sid Meier's Railroads! in the directory Documents and Settings\....\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier'sRailroads!. If you use Windows XP for example become "Sid Meier's Railroads!-1", then play the game normally. When you get the menu do not continue to play the game but get out from the game, usually after that automatically you will get new Sid Meier's Railroads! folder, provide 5 childs folder: they are: CustomAssets, saves, Log, screenshots and UserMaps, and 1 file that's setting.ini. Then copy what map you want to play into UserMaps Folder

The Game will auto create Four Folders "Custom Asset, Log, Save, Screen shot", there is no "User Maps" folder, this is I confused.

Try to completely uninstall, the whole game, and reinstall it including the patch.

We still do not know what exactly you have!! If you got the game on line or from an reissuer, you have to talk to them.
Sometimes it happens that they change the installation and update procedure.
Therefore only they will have the correct update.
Normally there is a "Readme.txt" (or similar name) file that explains what you should do.
Do you have a disc?? What is written on it?

It should not cost you any money. Wherever you bought the game they have to help you.
