Rift Valley SAM

Post by Jancsika » Sat May 15, 2010 8:08 pm

I am posting this map for testing.
This is a SAM – Stand Alone Map.
If you are not sure how to proceed, please read this first.!!!
http://www.hookedgamers.com/forums/view ... 143#p32143
It is a 10 X 10 map and it run flawlessly on my machine.
It is a SAM adaptation of an older map (Rift3 - http://www.hookedgamers.com/forums/view ... =42&t=2254 )
I have updated the graphics, industries, trains, etc.
Most of the new graphics are from Rodea’s Borneo.(Cotton,corn,train,whale….)
The transfer stations are from STEP and Choo-Papa Enterprises.
There are a bunch of fancy trains, thanks to Rodea, Thomas, Choo-Papa, DrFrag and STEP.
Thanks guys!!!!
There is a revised scenario. Lumber is not very profitable, but you should not completely neglect it, because you will need it Era-02. Some villages have to grow to Towns or Cities before you can build the needed industry
Be careful of the track layout, because the way the industries are located it will be easy loop them and create a mess.
The cities are producing passengers, but they will not accept them. The passengers have to be converted to Workers to utilize them.
Tunnels are expensive, but the grade specification was modified, so it will be easy to avoid them.

There seems to be a problem of a missing tender end statement, interacting with the workers car, which crashes the map (see attached). Is easy to fix.

Also, the victory condition calls for a bank, not a Rodea bank, so not possible to achieve. :D

Here is the revised RRT_TrainCars_RiftValley.xml file that will replace the one in the first post package.
Unzip it,then copy it and paste in the C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!\UserMaps\RiftValley folder replacing the original with the same name.
Sorry for the error and thanks to Karsten for catching it.

Thanks! :D One more thing I noticed, the Bridge reference in the scenario is not to the scenario Bridge file, so we get the wrong bridges (top) instead of the intended ones (bottom).

you cannot colpete the goals of this scenario, you are required to build a bank in lorien, however the industry name is Rodea bank, and when you place it you do not get the completion of that task in the 1st set of tasks

Ah
Thanks, I'll fix that.

PS. How about playing the "Green Mars" map?
I'd like to see an outside opinion about the completions of that scenario goals.
I am a bad judge of my own maps. :?
