Green Mars SAM map

This is for testing.
This map was in the making for a while, ever since I have seen the Apollo rockets in Lowell’s Florida gold.
It is complete as far as industries and productions are concerned.
All the different parts have been tested, but I am not quite sure about the Scenario goals. (Are they too much ?, or too little ?) I have tried the details so often that it is difficult for me to say.
The arrows on the enclosed map show the Scenario requirements only. The rest is up to the player.
I have redid all the buildings and depots, used a lot of STEP Inc-s creations, only changed the appearance.
Most of the “new” buildings have their origin in Choobacca’s Basin and Range map.
There are more notes in the downloads.
Let me know of any problems.

I am still working on the graphics of the structures and from time to time will post them. If you want you can take the Assets file and replace them with the new one. It won’t affect the gameplay, only will improve the appearance.

I have an issue with loading 'no-goods'. I can select the train and set up the route but as the carrages start to appear the game crashes to desktop. As a matter of interest why is the annex for these no- gooders at 10mill. Looks like a good map an look forward to playing it out in full.

NoGoods is a filler industry. There is no money in it. It will occupy otherwise empty building slots, so a Village has to grow to a City before you can buy the Mini Black Hole, also for 10 M.
All it does, adds difficulty to the game.
As for the crash, I'll have to investigate.
Thanks.

Sorry, there was an error in the RRT_Traincars_Green_Mars.XML file.
A corrected version was posted in the first post.

Those new buildings and industries really liven up the Mars environment (see screenshots). However, I hit a pothole when trying to build the Mini Black Hole, crashed the game every time.

Guess the Black Hole isn't as mini as expected and swallows up Mars in a flash!
The landscape is very well done, with the expensive tunnels encouraging terrain-aware routebuilding, which is great.
However, I was surprised to see the canal between Rhodos and Odessa cut right through a major mountain, when it easily and cheaply could have gone around - unrealistic?

This is where it came from.
That canal was built straight by Kim Stanley Robinson.

This map will allow deeper cuts and fills (excavation) so there is hardly any need for tunnels. Also the rails can be built on high fills (dikes?) and will allow a short piece cross tunnel. The only problem is that the new rails (on the top) will sometimes hang in the air.
Also there are no wooden or trussed bridges.

Very impressive - it seems to me the original canal does not take the shortest route but rather the most efficient one.

If I can figure some more futuristic industries there is a possibility for a "Blue Mars" map.
If somebody could make some new modern industrial structures, it would be great.
Most of the present industries are a variation of the original Chemical plant, via Basin and Range and ACWR.

Sorry about that.
I have the correct one (I hope) in ZIP format.
Was getting confusing.

An excellent map, well done Jancsica! Tremendous potential for replay and optimization, enjoyable landscape and a wealth of fresh building decor, goods and industries. I found just one missing report, but that is of no consequence to gameplay.
I played the map as Investor twice, finishing first with 17 years to spare, now 24 and if one built a really strong west-east backbone from Sheffield to Shabishii, one could probably shave off another 3-4 years, all with a clean, elegant routing network. Lots of little tricks and optimization possibilites to discover. Highly recommended for those seeking a challenge!
