East Coast Hurricane SAM map

Post by Jancsika » Tue Sep 09, 2008 12:08 am

The Hurricane season is here, so I thought that I’ll share this map with you all.
I was trying to make SAM from an old Map of mine it was based on the original Utah Scenario. I have realized that the old scenario was not very imaginative, so I wrote a new scenario, added some great new engines that were not available than.

It turns out to be a rather challenging game. Will require a lot of planning. There are no monetary goals, but there is lot of production challenges. The improvements are expensive. (It is Government money, so who cares!)
The story line is that a hurricane has devastated the East Coast of the United States from Washington DC to New York City. You are given 3 years to restore the seaboard industries and an other 3 to restore and improve the tourist industry of the area.

This is a Stand Alone MAP (SAM) there are two ZIP files “East Coast Hurricane.ZIP” and “BB_Utah.ZIP”.
All you have to do is to unzip both into a preferably empty C:/My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier’s Railroads/UserMaps/” folder.
Be sure that the “CustomAssets” folder is empty.

Great map fun to play but it is missing the image for railway museum auction and the icon used the steel/war icon needs to be changed to suit it.
But all in all was fun but time beat me.. :( on some objectives...

but time beat me..
I had to put the game in "Pause", rearrange the tracks. It took me an hour, but last I finished it by Febr 6,2004.

As for the bad icons and missing the auction graphic, it's because I am using the original Utah FPK.
I'll have to consult with Snoopy to add them.
Thanks for your comments.

I had to put the two FPK files into
C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!\CustomAssets

Or it would just CTD while loading.

I'm only half way through but I like all the custom work and scenario obj.
