It's the tga file that has the same name and it's confusing the game. Just drag that folder to the Desktop temporarily while you play PaF-Daddy's.

I have a problem, having unpacked the RAR to mygames etc.
The problem is that there is no SMR-file in my directory and not in the RAR either.
This means that the map doesn´t show up in the main menu or the editor.
Does anyone know a workaround or have an SMR-file to share?

swesim - You first have to start the game at least once. Once you do this you should end up with the folder you're speaking of in your version of:

C:\Documents and Settings\(your computers name)\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!

And Welcome to the forum! :D

Thanks Snoopy!
However this has not solved my problem.
Having started and played the game several times the custom European map doesn´t show up, I believe this is caused by it not having an SMR file in its directory.
I started playing around with the editor and decided to try and load the map in there, but the editor couldn´t find the map either, so something is not quite right.
I tried to reinstall the map by downloading it once more and then unpacked it with winzip, but the result is still the same unfortunately...

OK, let's go at it this way.....not wanting to step on your fingers any..... you have to place it in one of two places:

C:\Documents and Settings\(your computers name)\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!\UserMaps\

Or:

C:\Documents and Settings\(your computers name)\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!\CustomAssets\XML\_SCENARIOS_\

Also, leave it in the folder.

If you did one of these and it still doesn't work, try using one of the Installers first and test run that map.

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I've been playing this game off and on for a while and then discovered this page while searching for the last patch. I decided to try and download/install this map. I installed it according to the directions, but I get an error similar to what had been previously posted.

I downloaded the deluxe map.
I put the folder in the proper location in my docs.
When I try to play the game the thumbnail is not visible. When I click to play anyway, the game crashes. There are loads of other threads, but none seem to address this type of error.

Was I supposed to install other maps first?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I was download and tried this map. just a little correction, if want to play Europa Deluxe standar version...edit RRT_Scenario_Europa_standard.xml then change lines <szMapFileName>map_Europa.tga</szMapFileName> to <szMapFileName>map_Europa_standard.tga</szMapFileName>
and
<szMapThumbnail>map_Europa_thumbnail.dds</szMapThumbnail> to <szMapThumbnail>map_Europa_standard_thumbnail.dds</szMapThumbnail>...that's only ....
or.. make standar and special version as one folder ( put all in 1 folder ) you will get 2 scenarios on one folder.... :D
This map not need others installed map because he used original goods and industries
Don't forget to put this map under usermaps folder.
Good Luck

Because of the conflict this map had with the Europa map done by tomasvicente38, I edited the names to take care of the problem. As these maps require no GLOBALS or Mods, they only have to be placed in UserMaps or _SCENARIOS_ to be played.

The edited maps are on the first post.
