Green Energy Map

There are quite a few great scenario maps around, and it is great fun to play with them, but because of their size and complexity they slow down the game to a crawl by mid point.
So I have made this small, 10 x 10 map, with just a few basic industries. There is nothing original in them; the map is BasinAnsRange flipped over. The Era description was plagiarized from Chicago to the Rockies. The Train_Cars are also from BasinAndRange.
I don’t even know how to work and installer, so if somebody would be so kind and think it is worth it would be appreciated.

After doing a bit of editing, removing unneeded cars and those nasty TenderCars, I ran it and it worked fine. Here is the edit version:

Tried loading this map twice but it crashed on both occasions.

CanadianBrit - are you using GLOBALS? Meaning, have you loaded up any other Installers? They will be required to run this map. If not, you need to load these map Installers:

Basin And Range Demo
Basin And Range
Chicago to the Rockies
MID_EAST
Middle East
Santa (Holiday Scenario)
Side to Side
Super Bowl Express
Utah
Side to Side DSC

In that order (a couple of maps won't load unless you have certain maps loaded) To best find them, all but the second, click on the Wiki icon in the upper right corner and find Modding the Game, User Created Maps/Scenarios. For Basin and Range, click on the name at that site and it will take you to the download.

If you do have GLOBALS, where did you put the map?

I thought it was dependent on other maps, but I had no problems, been playing about 2 hours without a crash. :)

Except for the AI trying to make roller coaster bridges.

No, it's not dependent on other maps, but it is dependent on a full set of GLOBALS, and at this time I'm not sure just which single Installer loads all of the GLOBAL files. The Mail and Passenger cars are dependent on Basin and Range. I'm not going to try it, but it might even run without any patches.

CanadianBrit - did you mean that it crashed when it TRIED to load, or it crashed when you tried to play it?

Crashed during load.

Don't have all of those maps loaded so, I figure thats what it is then.

As for where I have it: mydocuments/mygames/sidmeier/railroads/customassets/xml/scenarios (or similar)

I am not an expert, but I think the safest way would be to start with reinstalling the game then using the installer from the Wiki install:
Menger’s Tenders
Holiday Scenario
All of Choobacca’s Maps

I don’t know what’s in the globals and I am not going to worry about them. I trust the experts who devised the installer know what they are doing. And believe me they do.

CanadianBrit - Jancsika has it right, but to me, the safest way is to load all the maps which have the mods, this way you're not wondering why a map you load later is not working. Ans as I edited in my previous post, the 'Holiday Scenario' is also known as the Santa' map.

And you do have it in the correct place, at least in my opinion. Others prefer putting maps in UserMaps. Each to his own I guess. Most of the time it seems to work both ways.

Anybody know why the Holiday Scenario is 13+Mb, while all the others are about the same as a saved game, 1.3Mb?

It has more custom content then most other maps. Remember while B&R has is the same size it uses advanced 7-zip compression.

Or maybe the compression rate is better with some?

B&R is the only map I know of that uses any form of compression.
