This is a map i made using hawaii as my base. The island shapes are basically correct, but as i couldnt fit them all i used most of them but did use all the correct cities and names pertaining to the islands.

It is still a work in progress but shouldn't have any problems atm. I have been testing and playing with a friend in single and multi play. There isnt any scenario atm other than buy out the opponent. But i need a bigger audience to get some opinions for improvement. Enjoy.

Fresh installer for this map. This installer will verify if the GP-7 mod has been installed and will abort cleanly if it is not available.

Updated map to 1.0a (includes the revised version above).

This is a fun map. :) It's to bad that Firaxis didn't make it so you could dig an under ground tunnel, it would look better then bridges on maps like this.

Fun, nicely laid out map Choo-Choo and looks top notch

Some ideas that I had.

Overall pretty good and may want to check some of those supplies like one of the grape farms had no grapes to pick-up and some of the fishing places had high terrain.

I notice that you need long bridges to the islands, fishing villages and to the main land and that had the goal mine off the edge of the map. As perhaps like the Basin & Range Demo map just have a port and containers.

Back to playing.

Ok as far as "no grapes" to pick up.. did you bring nitrate to the farm?

The high terrain near fishing is an issue im still working on atm. It didn't happen when i first made the map till after moving around industries and cities. Why its happening i have no idea but i can't seem to get rid of it. Tonight ill work more on it see whats up and hopefully get a revised map updated.

Next project is another map with seperated incity industries and maybe some new ones .. who knows  Coming soon!!!

Also i will be adding in a scenario for single play on the island chain map. Stay tuned!

As far as the long bridges go .. sorry blame firaxis  j/k but heres an idea u can do, this is what i do....

start your track from whereever u like to a far away city/industry but build it in sections not a straight run, once u get a piece of track in the city/industry, delete all the prior track out and start a new run of tracks to wherever. Works nice cause it allows u to in "looks" anyways like u have a whole new rail bussiness in a new place w/o any connection to ur main rail setup.

Thanks Choo-Choo

The bridges I know about what I was meaning was setting up perhaps ports and containers like the Basin & Range Demo map and since you have islands all you need to do is ship the goods or containers from that port say to a distribution centre and then round the island. I no mapper and no expert on this and maybe not possible yet.

I had a major CTD for Wine, yes you right and Im blind that you need Nitrates for a winery to grow that makes sense.

I shipped grapes from Wailuku to Kanaio $$$$$ signs came up ok then on starting to load wine it CTD on me.

The problem with your idea is that putting Goods in at one port doesn't transport them to another port. That can only be done on land. Unless you can make an underwater rail line.......

Me again - no second trains.

I see you have tenders listed in your RRT_TrainCars_Hawaii.xml

You need to remove all mention of tenders so the tenders mod works from the globals - sorry back to game. :D

atani - I know it's alittle more added to what you do, but it might not be a bad idea to look for those tenders in the RRT_TrainCars XMLs.

Just a thought.

Also, is there a mention of that in Wiki :?:
