OK Snoop

Got cotton working on the map of Wisconsin you sent ( although it crashes when you call for beer ).

Anyway Cotton seems to work just fine & looks ok too.

Can you tell me where I can find the image of the grain farm ? I can find the grain icon but not the farm.

There was a change in TrainCars done a while back. Go into RRT_TrainCars_Wisconsin1.xml and change <szName>Cask Car</szName> to <szName>Beer Cask Car</szName>. I'll let Atani know about it.

I'm glad you like the Cotton.

The Grain Farm is called grain_elevator.nif in the Industries0.FPK which is in \Sid Meier's Railroads!\Assets. The one I am using for the Cotton is in the Cotton1 folder and is called cotton_elevator.nif.

Its hard to believe snoop, MidEast was the first ever 15x15 map created by a user with the editor. It was suppose to be released with the patch that brough everyone the editor but as I worked on the map more and got more ideas it became to big and had too many problems to be released to the public in a patch.

As I've said before Daryl, I'm not good at map scenery. My maps are existing maps changed, except for Wisconsin, which I thank Big Papa for the Scenery. Programing I can do. I'm getting the hang of this Goods creation. We need a few more structures to play with tho.

But ya, we have come a long way. I've even seen posts in the 'Wish List' where someone pointed out that we had acomplished some of them. I was going to do that myself, but seeing as alot of the wishers have drifted away.......

I think I'm going to have to look into the Installer and figure out how to do that. If there are any programers out there, please check into it and give Atani a hand.

It is a game that falls constantly to the writing-desk, I have not been able it to never finalize.

The installer is really quite simple to do actually. I just have been quite busy and not had much time for games the last few weeks...

I still have the new MidEast map from you to work on the installer for. I am going to try and get that completed soon.. I will email you the installer pieces for it as well.

Atani - I do understand. I'm not expecting an overnight turnout. I've been kinda looking forward to the tutorial for doing it. I looked into what you had given and was a bit lost. But then, I'm busy looking for myself all the time.
No, really, if you or I do believe it was Choobacca, could do a "Installer Instructions For Dummies", I'd be most greatful. But please, attend to the other things you need to do first. When the money comes thru for the work on the house, I'll be in the same boat.

I hope I didn't offend you, that was not how I meant it. I really do want to learn if just for the new Goods I'm working on.

Atani - do you have one or two of the setups you did when you created the installers. If I can look at those and the SMR.nsh I'll may be able to work it out. I'll try a couple of existing maps to see what happens. I also have my cotton and coffee I can try and work into the Central Andes map. E-mail them or upload them.

Atani - minor problem. I'm working on the Cotton Farm and it has to have fields of course. Now, after the TerrainMap there are 6 settings available. I see these as:

Scale
IsCoastal
IsMountain
InCity
InForest
Cost

Am I correct or is the InForest supposed to be Hasfields? I'll fill it out as Fields and try.

With something to go by, this ain't to bad. What do I do after I getthe maps nsh finished?

Well, I become the 3rd to do these, and it ain't hard. A bit of trial and error...

You need BasinAndRangeDemo installed.

You also have to put the following line in the Cotton Farm in RRT_Industries.xml under <bInCity>0</bInCity>:

<bHasFields>1</bHasFields>

Check the Chickpea Farm also, I don't remember if I put that in mine or not.

This adds Cotton, 2 ports which bring in Grain and suck out Oil and Textiles. The sand storms smoothed out the sand a bit and I added a special touch I think most of you will like.... :P

Repaired Cario with Metal Works Factory
Replaced grain cars with cotton cars
