Thanks a lot for creating this scenario.
It worked great for as far as I got. ;)
Being the noob gamer that I am, I started by ignoring the instructions
and simply unzipped to the appropriate folders.
Obviously my game crashed so I went back to read up.

If I understand it correctly I have to:
-Unpack only the first zip if I want to use the double locs,
-Copy several bits of text from the included file to my xml files,
-Install the tender mod.

Is that correct, and if so: Where do I find the tender mod?

It would be great if scenarios like these, where the user is expected to
go through several actions (that they're probably unfamiliar with),
were poored into a nice installer.

Awesome work nevertheless. Thanks!
Greets,
Doc.

Thank You, and yes you are correct about the three steps.

You can get the Tender Mod in the Wiki:User Created Trains/Skins section.

Yes, we do have an Installer System and I am working on my installer for Amerigonia as I write this. Well, it's done but I'm testing it. :) And when it's working, hopefully by this afternoon, I will change this Scenario from a Beta to version 1.0. :D

Anybody else want to help test?

Okay, I have updated the first post to include the Installer.

Atani gave me a beta version of his 0.7 Installer Scripts and I did a little modifying of them. I have been able to get the install directory from the registry, use it to make the User Data path and display it on the Choose Install Directory page. This is a little different than what people might be used to since you should NOT choose the CustomAssets folder as with other Installers. Not that it actually worked since the path was hard coded in all script macros. :P

Please let me know if there is anything wierd with the Installer and let me know if it displays the right install path for your system.

Thank You,
Dr Frag

Yo Doc... I ran it and as I have been reloading my maps, I didn't have RRT_Trains.xml in with the other files so it stopped. I do believe that the original Set-ups noted this and copied them from the games XML folder.

Noobies may have a problem with this, specially if they load yours first

That's strange, I used the Check For Globals macro and it worked for me. I'll test again.

Hmm, I can't duplicate that. Can you tell me your reinstall sequence?

What I have right now is:

America
Basin and Range (and Demo)
Chicago to the Rockies
Dogworld
Mid East
Middle East
Ohio Large
Side to Side (and DSC)
Super Bowl Express
Utah

You only mention the TenderMod as a requirement, so a noobie should be able to load this as his first map.

What we need is a "Hey, since you are new to this forum, read this thread first" and in there it would list what is required to start loading maps and then what order to load them in. I think what I have is the ones with all the Mods that were done. But the Basin and Range should have loaded the RRT_Trains.xml.......

Hmmmmm

My installer puts the Globals in if they are not there. No matter what I delete or what I leave in my CustomAssets folder my installer puts the missing pieces in so I don't know what could be the problem. That is why I asked for your reinstall sequence so I could try to recreate the problem.

I will install some of those maps I guess and try my installer with them.

OK, I know what is happening, but not why. The way I get into my CustomAssets is thru a main screen shortcut. Because of this I didn't see what was happening. The Setup is making a new folder called Railroads! when it goes to edit the RRT_Trains file. I figured maybe that was just a folder I had made so I changed it to read Railroads!old. When I reran the Setup it added another Railroads! folder. (These are in 'My Games'). If I remove my RRT_Trains.xml from my XML folder, it gives me a message of:

"Failed to Transverse XPath in RRT_Trains.xml"

and creates the Railroads! folder which has CustomAssets/XML and in it is a 66 KB version of RRT_Trains.xml. If I have my RRT_Trains.xml where it should be, it creates the same folders, but does not put the XML file in.

If I confused you in any way, let me know and I'll try to clear it up.
