San Francisco Bay Area
Re: San Francisco Bay Area
I would be glad to help...but it's not my map, "I don't know what needs done"...I will need direction from what the map maker would like to have done/added or whatever. I saw the comments about the ports being difficult to mess with. Seeing as that is a simple task for me I thought I would offer help if asked.dwax wrote:I think you should re build it Lowell.
Just drop me an email Lowell@CrimsonSun.cc with the map files and a discription if what needs done, like where a port is to be placed and so on type stuff. If the game has anything "new" added, I can make the map a clean install type upgrade where anything new and global is self contained, thus making installing and playing the map a drop and play process.

Re: San Francisco Bay Area
dwax, you're such a delegator.
Thx Lowell, but there is nothing to do more with this map. Still toying with the idea of a version 2.0
I do like your darwinia mod. Believe me, if I get stuck, I'll cry out.

...yup...I to think it plays just fine as is. I like this map plays well.

Cool...thanks...part two is well under way. I have just two levels to finish...with four done so far. The storyline has expanded, I have a couple shp's to finish and convert for the fuel yard/depot. "everything is top secret" at this pointI do like your darwinia mod

Re: San Francisco Bay Area
So I finally got around to the San Francisco Bay Area map this weekend. The game dropped me in Vallejo, so I expected things to get tough, and tough they got! Since I had to restart a few times anyway, I amused myself by providing a sort of quasi-Golden Gate bridge near San Francisco.CalmDragon wrote:The first era's mail challenge is the hardest one to complete on this map. If the game starts you in Oakland it is easy enough, San Rafael, Redwood City, or Fremont, near impossible. Have fun and send in those improvements.
The first passenger goal was barely manageable, the second era manufactured goods was tough as nails, and the AI didn't help, because none of the three built any useful track that I could have used to speed up the last goals. The final map looks a bit like a trainwreck, with the AIs building all over the place, although I deleted most of their stuff. Look at the nifty crossing built by one of the AI!
Absolutely enjoyable map this is! I like especially the landscape based on true DEM, in a reasonable scale. Congratulations, CalmDragon. Lets see more of these.

The AI was not kind to you at all, and very crazy there on that crossing! I am working on another map, and have been on holiday the last couple of weeks. With the Dodgers in town, it will be Friday before I get enough time to even turn on the system at home. I am so glad so many of you enjoyed it, and thanks for posting a WIN screen shot!karsten wrote: Look at the nifty crossing built by one of the AI!
