Like I said...my map name and info are much larger and the scroll bars work just fine and the interface browser works great.

The top section has a brief history about the map, then the bottom section shows every scenario goal and the era dates...scrolls fine.

The maps name is only to be a few words...Place the update info in the first section, the discription of the map and off of the name and you will fix that...so no...both areas can scroll if done correctly.

You can even use a 1024 sized dds image and the scroll bars still work.

EDIT// The image below is my edit to your scenario subtitle...I moved the rest of the info to the discription area as well...looks better, the scroll bar now works on the top discription area and the buttons on the interface browser are fixed...sorry, I had a couple pictures of one of my maps as an example...I had to download yours real quick...make the changes...then post the new image...hope this helps...

Lowell, your off the problem that was brought up. What you are talking about scrolling thru is the <szEraDescription> and the Victory Conditions. RBR! Reasearch Before Reply! mutantz has the <szSubtitle> line circled, not the <szEraDescription>. The <szMapName> and <szSubtitle> have a limited space which can only handle a set number of charactors. Please go back and look at his screen shot.

Lowell, thank you for editing your post.

He has placed his map versions and update information in with the maps name.....place that info in the maps discription and he can add as much information as he wishs without tearing the interface browser...
that is what I said. It will fix that button at the top of the interface browser.

EDIT//sorry...My Bad...I should have been more clear in the first place...I posted a picture of how it could be fixed...overworked and had one of those senior moments... :)

I returned to play this map after an absence playing SAM's. Even with a clean install and only SMRI the number of ctd's was far too many. How hard would it be to convert Longshot and the other related maps of Jancsika's to a SAM package?

It would be easy for me to make this map a clean install type map. The only differance with my style is everything is inside one file folder and no loose FPKs to loose later...many people have just one clean RailRoads! folder and swap out the maps one at a time. Loose items placed extra can get lost as time goes by, or if they stick FPKs in the Custom Assets folder they may forget and leave too many in there. All new map content is stored inside the maps folder in a folder called Assets. All that is required is say if the map uses the port from B&R...then you have to dig that models files out and have them in with your Assets. Other "global" files can be added with the scenario files to give players new difficulty money, new goods and/or industries for the game, thus new items can be added much easier.

I would be glad to help build the files if asked.

Lowell, I've been holding back on this, but once to often is once to often.....

Explain to me how a person can 'loose' an FPK file when it is sitting right next to the map it was written for??? Do you not delete your CIC maps? Can a person not delete a map folder AND an FPK folder? And as they are both part of one ZIP file, you cannot 'loose' them  .

Quit...just quit!

I think it’s a great idea. I am in the process of making a scenario using the Building Blocks and it would be nice to see how somebody with Lowell’s technical expertise would make a map using the Bulding Blocks.Jancsika :P

Great! Would this be a single map as a SAM or a few related maps?

Sure...I would be glad to help. All you need do is get all the industries, goods, train cars and whatever...if not default, and send me the files. I will make it all work. It is fine to leave the renamed BB stuff...if any are broken I will fix it and get it running. Just let me know wheather you would like the map to be a clean install type...{prefered}...or a global map that will run in smri.

All you need do is send me the maps you would like zipped up to my email. Lowell@CrimsonSun.cc and I'll get them converted and running.

I have checked this map and it can be reworked to a SAM type (free standing) map with a little elbow grease. I will work on it in the next few weeks. I might get interrupted because I am getting a new computer this Friday and will have to get acquainted first with Vista.
The only thing I will need are two Industries: “Tannery” and "Football Manufacturer”, that is the FPK and the corresponding XML files. So if somebody will be so kind to make them, it will be a great help.
