No economic cycles?

Post by MarkShot » Fri Apr 25, 2008 10:08 pm

I recently got the game. I've read the manual, strategy guide, and Wiki.

I am still playing RTD and RT3 as well. In those game, there are economic cycles running from Panic -> Boom that impact the amount of freight available and the cost of track construction etc...

As far as I can tell, there is no general economic cycle mechanism in this game but for how events impact specific aspects of the game and the gradual reduction in passenger/mail profitability. Is that correct?

Thanks.

Suggest you have a look in the Wiki as I think Redknight did some work on this subject.

There are a few things like if you start shipping to a Industry the price starts rising, so it is best to buy then ship. Also, large shipments like 8 cars will drive the price down as the cars are unloaded.

In freight, distance is of no concern whereas with Mail and Passengers it makes a difference.

It's kind of a 'Earn as You Learn, Learn as You Earn' type of thing...
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....
