I'd be interested too. That's my most-played scenario, & it took me awhile to get the knack of it (3 & 4 track mainline, 4 trains w/ 3 cars each, start at least 20 years before deadline). I now play with two ai's, ready to go for 3 or 1 (sometimes one ai is hard, because he is concentrating all his efforts to defeating you).CalmDragon wrote:What does it say about the NE scenario to get passengers from NY to DC?

"...Upgrading a depot all the way to a terminal costs $250,000, so you need three-quarters of a million dollars to achieve one objective. Fortunately, one of your other objectives - the New York / Washington immigration - is worth a fair amount of money all by itself, so you should set that up as soon as possible. Run a dedicated and very straight track between these two cities as early as possible or getting all fifty carloads becomes tricky. Upgrade your New York-Washington passenger train the moment upgrades become available, so you can accomplish your goal and rake in the cash that much faster."

This goal is not hard in Solo play with no AIs, once you learn the ropes. I really like that e.g. you can slightly "wing" certain cities, to make almost a straight line from DC to NYC.... have your track slightly bend to be above one city along the way, slightly below another, etc.
Of course in MP or w/AIs, it's nearly impossible.
