I know I'm doing some thing wrong. Lets see if you can help me out. I am running Windows Vista Premium. Down loaded the map Borneo Island Map Scenairo1.1 I have gone through the proses of making the second (Sid Meier's Railroads!) folder. I place the Zip file in the c/users/owner/Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Railroads!/UserMaps and unzip it to there. I see the Borneo map folder appear in the UserMaps folder. So I restart the game and try it. It just crashes to desktop. Any ideas, also if I do get a SAM to work like side to side it only works for a short time then crashes as well? Thanks for your time and any help you can give me.

Re: Crashes to desktop
Have you used the 3Gb enabler?
What version of windows are you using? Vista? 64bit or 32bit?
Try the enabler and see if it clears it up.

Set your pagefile to maximum, use Gamebooster, have your competability set to XP service pack #2, and read this thread.

You can move the Asset files around, it will load eventually.
This is large map load it slowly. Wait between loading steps.
Try several times 3-4 tries will load.
As for the SAM maps: SAM stands for Stand Alone Map. That means have only one map loaded at a time.

Re: Crashes to desktop
Thanks Warll, I will look into "3GB enabler" after I am done here posting. I run Vista 32bit.
Thanks for the link and advice Jancsika. I will read the link you posted and try the adjustments you talked about. Thank you both for replying to my post.

Re: Crashes to desktop
A crash to desktop (or CTD) is a computer program crash which is said to occur when a program (especially a video game) unexpectedly quits, abruptly taking the user back to the desktop. Usually, the term is applied only to crashes where no error is displayed, hence all the user sees as a result of the crash is the desktop. Many times there is no apparent action that causes a CTD. During normal function, the game may freeze for a shorter period of time, and then close by itself.
