Stations on routing map not displaying

Howdy all! Been reading the forum and it looks like a pretty nice place!

Here's the deal. I had SMR on disc over 4 years ago playing on this same computer with no problems. Lost the disc, didn't want to download an illegal copy, so the only one I could find to buy was a digital download through Best Buy. Not my personal choice, but it's what I had.

Game loads fine, starting a game is fine, placing tracks and stations are fine. However, when I go to buy a train it requires you to pick stations (white dots on routing map). No stations ever show up making the game unplayable. Searched all over for answers to this problem but cannot find a solution.

Uninstalled, reinstalled, turned off antivirus. No luck. Please see the attached photo. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated since I loved this game when I had it. Also a side note, the demo version runs without hiccups.

I am having same issue. everything works fine except cant build depot's. funny but before buying the game(download version from bestbuy) the demo works just fine. so something is definately wrong with game. someone have any ideas?? I have read extensively everywhere there is info about this, and just cant find an answer.

Wow, never thought anyone would have the same problem as me. I didn't mention this earlier but I also can run the demo just fine.

Dekree, I sent a support request to 2K games and well it took a couple days but they got back to me. We are in the early stages of emailing back and forth but I will definitely post something when I get an answer. You might also want submit a support ticket.

I'm having the exact same problem. I had purchased it via Direct2Drive a year or more ago and it worked fine at that point (on Vista). Now I've been forced by GameFly to download it in their "client" application and I am getting these errors. It's totally unplayable. I contacted GameFly and they claim this is a game issue not an installation issue so they won't help.

Any news on this? I sent in a support request to the developer almost a week ago-- still no reply.

GameFly has ignored my responses to the support ticket since the one where they told me off, saying it was a developer issue.

ive been back and forth with support from 2k games and they havent suggested anything to fix it yet.

Exact same problem here as well! Good to know I'm not alone. I also D/L'd the game from Best Buy and I'm running Vista. I'll be watching this thread! PLEASE post up any solutions if you should be lucky enough to find one.

2k games has gone silent for about a month now on the support ticket.

If you haven't already I'd send support tickets through their website. More people the better...

I can think of two ways to get rid of the problem. One could be to copy the whole SMR file with all its components to the C: drive, where the game would look for its assets.
If that does not work, you could try buying a disk-based version from Amazon. Every now and so often, I have seen some very cheap SMR copies for sale.
