terrain editor doesn´t appear in main menue

Post by Ermel » Tue Mar 13, 2007 5:21 pm

hi there!

i patched my game to v1.10 that´s supposed to include the terrain editor. so it should show up it in the game´s main menue afterwards. but it can´t be found.
the correct version number is shown at the bottom of the screen and other changes done by the patch also emerge in the game.
only that damn terrain editor option just wont appear.
i un-, re-, and overinstalled both the game and the patch several times using patches from different sources. without effect.
that´s quite annoying and i can´t imagine why that is.

any ideas? please!

otherwise i´d have to ask you guys to create maps for me!

p.s.:maybe i could install the editor separately? if so, where can i get it?

http://www.hookedgamers.com/wiki/Sid_Me ... :Interface Although you'll still need to know XML.

 oh! thank you sooooo much!

I wonder why they made it so "unintuitive" to get that thing started. i spent the whole day trying to solve that "problem". i could have created the map of my dreams instead. :x

cheers

Don't get your hopes to high up, the map editor is not the be-all end-all its only a tool.

yes, i know!
i´m quite skilled at modding civ4, so XML is not the problem.
and i know how to use photoshop.

the way railroads! saves the map physics is very similar to how railroad tycoon on the amiga used to do it.

not only the game but also the modding conditions remind me of the good old times.
