Smr Simple!

Here it is a New Train from EMD with type SD 40-2 SD 40-2 and SD 4-2B
How to install this train?
In the zip file you downloaded is available several types of files:

- SOO_SD40_2.KFM
- SOO_SD40_2.NIF
- SOO_SD40_2.Dummies.nif
- SOO_SD40_2B.KFM
- SOO_SD40_2B.NIF
- SOO_SDA.DDS
- SOO_SDB.DDS
- SOO_SDB_EMSK.DDS
- SOO_SDB_NRML.DDS
- SOO_SDB_SPEC.DDS
- Event_newtrain_SOO_6623.dds
- Routing_SD40-2_SOO6623.tga

and 3 xml files:
- Train.xml
- TrainCars.xml
- Names.xml

Download the zip file and extract into CustomAssets
Then....
Open the file RRT_Trains_xxx.xml
Enter all the listings that exist on the file Train.xml

Next step...
Open RRT_TrainCars_xxx.xml
input all the listings are there on the line below <RRTTenderCars> TrainCars.xml

The final step ... open RRT_Names_xxx.xml
do the steps as above to enter your new train name into the game

Now you've got a new train that can be played

Good stuff - I may be able to use your EMD in my "Rhodes Unfinished" scenario end stage, here are some screenshots. I encountered some missing files, however.

if you use rodea diesel train 6 axles then you need download this file below:

HI Rodea2007 I have been trying to make the train appear in the game but every time I do it, its never in there. I have done everything correct but its still not letting me do it, i even added the two files that you were supposed to add in. Could you please help me solve this problem.

Hi Bigboy4967....I don't what happen to you, should be if you read and follow the instruction it won't happen, send to me the RRT_Trains_yourmap.xml included SOO files, I will check them and give you solve it...

Never mind Rodea I got it fixed i forgot to copy the things for train tag name, but if i were you i would create and installer like choobaca did for his ac4400 warbonnet. Due to the face that some people dont understand where your coming from.

try to upgrade your RRT to version 1.1.0.0

If you are putting it into a custom map, it will be in the maps folder. If you plan on adding it to the games original maps, look in (what ever drive you have it in):\Sid Meier's Railroads!\Assets\Localization. There will be 6 of them, one for each of the 6 languages the game was written for.

Hi all,

This is my first post and could not find a better one to test out my new Member log in.

It works so its a big thanks to, Daniel Dressler, for clearing my membership.

I did pick up most of the new layouts made available here and must say I missed a lot sitting of in a pile of mushrooms over the last couple of years. Was besides myself finding this site, and seeing all the progress in SMR. Most outstanding.

Hope to follow up on this thread when return the week of the 16th July. Off for now to be with family of a dear friend we lost to a better place, recently. Will be missed by many.
