Good choice! I like the Canadian National "Zebra" paint scheme too. I’ve seen that picture before. Hope someone here with more knowledge will help you out. I like seeing the realistic paints on my diesels.

WOW thanks, think I will wait until atani makes an installer for this tho. I'm not much good at moding them files. :oops: :lol:

The attached installer adds the following new trains:
TAG_NAME_GP38_2W -- single GP38-2W
TAG_NAME_GP38_2W_DUAL -- dual GP38-2W (A-B)
TAG_NAME_GP38_2W_DUAL_AA -- dual GP38-2W (A-A)

To add these to existing maps add the following fragment to the RRT_Trains_XXX.xml files for each map which you want to use these trains:

Code: Select all

<Train>
    <szName>TAG_NAME_GP38_2W</szName>
</Train>
<Train>
    <szName>TAG_NAME_GP38_2W_DUAL</szName>
</Train>
<Train>
    <szName>TAG_NAME_GP38_2W_DUAL_AA</szName>
</Train>

Our next map will have >100MB of custom content in FPK files

WOW choobacca that is impressive! I can't wait! :) Can you maybe add the new emd_GP38_2W that ace13567 made?? :D

Exactly. Thats the only difference between the _DUAL and _DUAL_AA engine tags (switching the tender car entry)

dwax,
We are currently working on roughly covering the BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe) railroad, which covers the Santa Fe & BN, so the CN engine won't fit in at this time. I see that the new 38-2w has a modified cab so we will have to give this new model a look. From this 38-2w, it would be great if someone could make a SD70MAC (or something close to this) out of it. This would be a great addition, giving us a missing link in the 6 axel engines. There are a few paints schemes that don't belong on the 4400's.
Our goal is to give the feel of taking charge of a major Class I railroad, having cars and engines painted to match. Why we picked BNSF? Choo happened to paint the Super Chief and things just went from there + they have a good number of colors to choose from & are a major US railroad. But there are many roads to choose from. After BNSF, we were planning on taking on the Union Pacific and all that entails. Yes, some day several months from now (probably more, painting these engines takes some time) snoopy55 will get to select from the round house a freshly painted Chicago & Northwestern engine.
Why am I here...I love trains, always have. This game lets me build a layout every time I play. I don't have enough room to build an HO layout at home. The maps might be small, but they are way bigger than a 4x8 sheet of plywood. I am a part-time rail-fan too. I have chased down a train or two. :lol:

I don't know what happened, but I added the three lines to about 3 maps and really flubed things up :? Had red blobs on one, one had no engines on it, and I tried it on the Demo map and cant get that to even load no more. :cry: I took all the lines out of the map XML and it still wont load. Strange part, the other two have the engines in them now,after re-moving the lines. :shock: I noticed the gp38-2W's are in the round house but are hiding in the dark. :lol: Anyone have any idea why the Demo map would stop working? :?

They do look sweet ace13567. :) I got the Demo map to load, I backed up my Sid Meiers folder in My Documents on a voyager flash disk, just in case. :lol: This game really surprises me, how the new engines can be in the map when they are not listed in the RRT_Trains_XXX.xml file. that happened to me yesterday two, I got the Dual GP38's and they were not in the XML. :lol: thanks for all the hard work you put into these.
