Re: Repainting
The only finishing I can see is matching the numbers on the ends to the engine number on the side. After that it's just watch it closely and see if there are any details you want to touch up.Burlington_Northern_3140 wrote:Works perfectly! how do I finnish up?
I can't see how it can be any smaller since it is just a reskin of a GP38-2.......dwax wrote:Looks pretty good in game. A bit smaller then the rest of the engines tho. Good job.

Re: Repainting
Well, you may need to compare that large fuchsia colored engine to some other engine.... Here is the WP next to an original EMD GP38 from the game......

Re: Repainting
"large" is an object bigger than another in size.
"fuchsia" is an ugly shade of purple, which your "large" engine is.
As to 'why is it larger?', that must have to do with something in your map.
Any one else have this problem?

Re: Repainting
Check the engines XML entries, it likely has a Scale= to less then one. Or how ever it works again.
Re: Repainting
Here is a picture of it in your map Side to Side. I never did nothing to make the engines bigger or smaller either.

Re: Repainting
I must say that this is a new concept. This would be the first report of an engine taken steroids. The stock engine is not scaled in the XML and the NIF has everything at 1. I downloaded the WP and compared it to the stock and they match in all scale locations on the NIF.
All I can say is that your stock GP 38 is doing Roids and needs detox. Since it is about 10% bigger, does it move more cars faster. If it doesn't, then it is also holding back on you. Take it out to the alley and give it an attitude adjustment.
Seriously, something must be messed up on your computer. The scale for your stock engine has either been altered or corrupted.

Re: Repainting
I think I still have a png of the new number for the side. I remember trying to add an alfa to that. If I find it I will try to add an alfa channel again and if I do I will remember how I did.

Re: Repainting
The side number is not what I'm referring to. On the middle right side of the DDS (PNG) you have the orange rear end. The two numbers on that read '3515' which may be either the original or an earlier number. They are also in the upper left corner. You can play with the side numbers, but the end numbers should match. Just keep a back-up in case you lose your alpha layer.

Re: Repainting
The stock train is not larger, its the new one which is smaller. Look at the rails and you'll see what I mean. I suspect it may have something to do with the tender mod.Tijer wrote:I must say that this is a new concept. This would be the first report of an engine taken steroids. Re: Repainting
The last pic posted is two engines going head to head, not one leading the other. There is a car behind the larger one. And the only place to change the scale is line four of RRT_TrainCars and RRT_Trains XMLs.
But still, mine are not two different sizes. Try it for yourself. Add the XML Block into any map with a GP38, set the dates of both to 1830 and the cost to 300 and run the map. Let's hear what you get.

Re: Repainting
I found a reference to a 1.5 setting for scale, but the problem is, a scale setting will effect ALL the engines, not a chosen few. Try a save on that, and upload the save and the map folder you have and I'll look it over.
