Railroad crossings

Post by snoopy55 » Tue May 27, 2008 10:01 pm

In searching for information about railroad engines you come across some of the most interesting things. Here is a photo at this sight to look at:

But don't stop at just looking at the photo, read the comments. Specifically, read the one by Erick Anderson, and take his advise about the search on Wikipedia. The interesting photo there is the last one. Try that one on a map......

And while you're there, go down and loose yourself in the wonders of Railway track layouts, especially Junctions. When you get back from your trip, play one of the maps and mess around with some of that information........
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

I've crossed a track like that in the game, well it looks like it...

Actually just a slight change in grade gets you close, but you have to be patient getting the track to go.

I can't seem to make more than one crossing though. Parallel tracks seem to do the bridge wig-out thing. :?

That is a heck of an interlocking. The worst I have to go across here is tower 55 in ftworth. Thankfully it is a manual interlocking meaning it is controlled by the dispatcher.

I was always wondering why they left out the interlocking in this game, but they left out sidings too.
