Why isn't there a dowloads page?
Love this site folks, but one problem I have is locating various mods and downloads. Why isnt there a section simply called same where all the mods, patches etc could be easily accessed? So far my adventures have left me with 9-10 browsers open as I follow the various advice offered, also how do I edit the xmls to change the names of cites...all I get is 'nameless city' when I play a scenario.

As to name changing, there are 2 XMLs that have to be changed. Ther game looks to your entry that you probally make in the maps RRT_Cities XML. This gives it a base. you can call the city anything, names, numbers, even letters. It takes this "Tag" you gave it and opens a second file, the maps RRT_Names, and matches the "Tag" you gave it with one in this file and there is a line called <Text> which has whatever name you want to show on the map. So, you can lay out where you want towns, and figure out the names you want to use later.
Also, if there is some advice that you find is spread accross several threads, put it all together and add it to the Wiki that was pointed out to you by Warll. You can get to the full Wiki by way of the "Railroads! Wiki" above on the left. I have a shortcut to it on my address bar for even easier access. If you are playing with maps, read the Wiki, you can find lots of good help there.
