Post by dwax » Mon Jun 18, 2007 10:27 pm

Anyone have new maps that they are making? The forum is kind of getting slow. :) But it's summer and more are spending more time out side.I hope are mappers haven't decided to go some where else. Want to thank all you for keeping the game alive. :)

Well my man, you could come up with some scenarios for maps we have, things to be done by a certain time, changes in Goods, Indusrties and such.
If anyone does not want their maps played with, speak now and it won't be done, speak later and it will be removed.
If anyone has adaptations to any maps they'd like to see, post them here or Email them to me. I won't guarantee quick turn around but I'll try. And if someone else wants to attempt a suggestion, lay claim to it here.
One thing to do, set up an item to be shipped to somewhere and make it like 200 or 500, then make a few plays to see what can be done, then adjust the numbers to reality. The Victory Conditions are in Wiki, and if you need help with the rest of the Scenario part ask and I or someone will assist you. I'll try to get the rest of that done.

Come on people, Stand up and give suggestions :D Stand up and volunteer to take on a Quest :P . Stand up and add your two bits to this game
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

Is the size of the map bound by the game? I find the default maps are too small to exploit the more powerful locomotives. One of my favorite things about RRT1 was that, as new engines became available, you could reach out and grab more resources, hauling raw materials back across long distances to your cities.

I think we've gone up to map size 25 so far (625sq units) and that would be 1500x1500 pixels but that size requires big computer resources and the game becomes unstable after awhile.

Work is continuing on the Australia map ... :P hope to have a neat feature or two in there, which have cost tremendous research investment ... perhaps Gackbeard could give us a tip or two on some puzzling issues, that would save a lot of time.
