Smr Simple!

K-class was interested in some pictures, so I thought this would be the best place. The third ZIP has some notes.

Before I got smart and bought a CD burner I had a 500Mb drive almost full of pics (about 800) and the drive died. Now I keep several copies til I burn them.

Wow them are kewl! Is that your back yard!? Don't the trains wake you up when they go buy?? I can still remember when I was small, waking up because I thought the train would come through my wall or window. They say a tornado sounds like that LOL I was pretty scared until I got used to it.

When we lived in northern Illinois there was a park and then the tracks behind us. The pics of the flats with those gray things is from there. The rest of the low pixel shots are mainly from Eola Yard. The only real noise problem we had was an engineer who blew his horn cause he knew someone near us. The worst problem of all came about 5 monthes after we moved in. We both love those glass ball scenery things. As a train was going by one evening we heard a smash! We pulled all the knick knacks and such off the shelves. You can really feel it when you get a RR car with a flat wheel.
Down here in central Illinois we have 3 different RRs going thru town and 11 crossings and the diamond (for lack of a better word) On a clear peaceful night we can hear 16 to 19 crossings. And this being coal country, there are alot of trains going thru.
This is a beautiful area for Railroads. When this was a major coal area there were tracks crisscrossing lower Illinois every 3 to 5 miles. Just makes steam lovers drual
