That is a pretty old paint program. It is much easier to paint an engine with a newer program like Paint.net. Paint.net also allows you to weather your trains. If you find a paint program you like I might be able to show you how to weather your passenger cars. Untill then, would you like me to try weathering them?
I`d like that very much, I'll upload the new version with the logos. Here it is:

As pointed out by Jancsika, this link on the Firaxis Website to our forum here is broken.

Just informing Firaxis about the need to fix the link, including perhaps also a few screenshots illustrating recent work, might be a very good first step. It could bring a lot of new visitors, who naturally start out from the community page of Firaxis.

Ideally, in my opinion, Falconer or Wolfwood would contact Firaxis.

Wolfwood and Tazz had also raised the idea of having a subforum for finished mods some time ago. Another excellent proposal, which somehow never got implemented. This would be the ideal starting point for newcomers, without irritating them with the confused history of the forum.

Jancsika, merging this post with the one in Chat would have caused to much confusion in that thread. Also, if you read the two posts prior to yours you will see the request for it to be continued in Chat.

I will lock this thread
and all further discussion can be continued in Chat under 'Railroads! and showing Firaxis we want to see it thrive.'
Hey it works!!
Thanks Tazz

We could send Firaxis the Toy Trains map, if it's by Karsten, and the reworked Holiday Train! Does anybody think there should be a certain date on which to send the mods to Firaxis? Something to aim for?

The Toy Trains map is by lowell who I can ask for permission if you want. I would wait on sending the toy trains map since it is not finnished. the finnished version should have solved a few industry problems by lowell, new engines by me and snow covered buildings and industries by me and lowell.

I would say that a good date to send things would be when more cics and sams are completed and finnished and when I complete the PRR F7A. It appears many of the maps we have selected are not the newest and all of the newest stuff is still being worked on. Sams and CiCs are too recent to have any maps that use there file system. some realy good maps, made to work as a sam, should be coming soon.

I'm not trying to be annoying, but when we compose screenshots could the locomotives possibly pull one of my cars? Please? At least then they'd see that locomotives and cars are being painted (your E8 pulling my Milwaukee passenger cars.) If not that's ok too.

That would be great. I just don't have an E8 model yet. When I do it will be in the yellow Milwaukee Road scheme.

The PRR F7s Decal isn't long enough so I don't know how I would finnish it.

Yes, I'd like to help, too! I think the US transcon map would be ideal. If someone would maybe make some tenders for the engines, that would be nice! Paticularly, a variation of the American Tender with the wood load replaced with a coal one, and a six-wheeled variation of that. Anything to let Firaxis know we want to see more stuff for the game! :)
