Oh I've got it on a couple machines...it's okay. But there is a need for a faster cleaner running opp ware for games.

No, you have it all wrong, Bill writes the OS, and the gaming industry writes there software to work in it. Naughty person, crossing BigBill!

Yes...I know that is how it is done, that's why many game devs want a change from old Bill so they can make bigger/faster games that run better. Sort of like taking the highway pay toll both off of the road allowing you non-stop data transfer. The page/swap file was a bandade fix back in Win 95 days.

EDIT//I've used all the Windows products, used 3.1 to program old switches. XP is the most solid they have right now.

...yup...I used to run a version of Susie some years back. It's just not as quick to plug and play. But once setup it always runs.

What ever came of the guys that developed the free version...he was going after Red Hat and a couple others. They took his free opp system he posted back when he was in in college (Linux) and they took it made money off of it and now there has been a giant law suite for three years now against the whole bunch of them. He said it was to be free and not for people like the red hat group and others to package and make money off of it. (If you have noticed in the stores it has been pulled some time back)

That's why I have not even considered looking at any Linux product at all...till all this is fixed and blows over. It's not funny how our legal system takes a zillion years to get cases to court.

You can still download it free from the companies that are selling it. I have several times. They are required to have free copies available, but can sell you CDs and DVDs. companies can also sell you software made for specific reasons, as I understand it. They are just long downloads and I have a problem doing the switchover. Linux is great for multi-CPU systems tho.

Enough of Linux, let's get back to whatever this thread was about in the first place. A big download pack I think.

Hi All, I'm just getting back into SMR aftera 6 month sabatical. I've given up waiting for another official patch but with a lot of the suggested fixes for the Vista issues my game is now running stable. I'd love to test out a single install pack that contains all the latest maps, mods etc. it will save me time of having to reinstall each individually. Great work to all involved!

Ok I hope no one(Atani) minds, I would like to get oyu guys to test SMRI before I post it on Moddb.com. So heres the link to the site, you'll find the download uber the downloads tab. Make sure to that any errors you find or not because of something you did. I really don't want to bother Atani, so delete your existing "my games/SMR" before hand.

Just wanted to give a BIG thanks to all the people responsible for SMRI.

I quit playing the game months back because of the problems I ran into after downloading a few of the mods. I grew bored with other games and recently started playing the default SMR scenarios again.

I remembered the forums, so thought I would check on what was new. Was I impressed! I just installed the 13 needed mods last night and played just fine, but am downloading this package to give it a try on my 2nd PC. :D
