A frightening sign, and a good reason for it to be.......

Post by snoopy55 » Wed May 21, 2008 12:28 am

In my photographing of the Norfolk Southern (Mods - Trains, Repainting) I saw the sign below. I did not make this up, it IS real! In searching the internet for engines I came across the picture below it which is a good reason they should not allow it.....

(Hey Burlington Northern, you think you can do that one for us????)

In Spokane Washington I've seen remote controlled engines before. The remote is there so the engineer can see what the engine is doing better and couple and uncouple the cars himself. I could take the CN GP38-2W and paste on the Milwaukee Road Textures, add some rust and add alfa channels and have a pretty torn up engine.

Snoppy,

This remote controlled locomotives are used in switchyard. The Hostler, Yard Man are on the ground walking along on the train.

The remote is held in from of the hostler. Equipped with a trip (fall) switch and other fail safe features.

Want more info, check out Cattron - one manufaturer of the remote equipment.
