Hehe, glad you like it! :)

I think it was time for a change and as long as we were upgrading to the new phpBB 3.x forum software in any case... ;)

Glad you like it. :)

We had so many reasons to for making some big changes to our forums that we felt a bit of a redesign for Railroads! was warranted too.

As far as we've been able to test, everything was moved over properly, but if there's something that doesn't work, let us know pls, we still have everything on the old site should we need it.

The only potential issue I noticed is that large .jpgs don't autosize, which makes it just a bit cumbersome to view them.
The slider is fine, but it is difficult to get a sense of the picture as a whole.

Well, I was going to mention two things, but since I have about a 1 inch wide space to type this message, that will make it three!

The sections (can't think of the right word right now....) has a red background for both new posts and no new posts. A color change would also help to see them more easily. Maybe keep the red for new stuff and other colors for the other two.

Also, what do the dots mean on some of the thread?

Just spoke with Tijer and he has a full 'reply'. He is using FireFox, I'm using Opera.

Another minor thing....I made a post to the forum, getting to it by my shortcut, and it posted to the old one, not this one. The new posts also did not show, so someone may want to make a BIG post to the old one to reset shortcuts to this site.

Well, I gotta get out of here, I'm getting a little case of claustrophobia..... :|

Ok so I have a sugegstion as well. Could we get rid of the "Bookmark topic :: Print view :: E-mail friend" At the top of the page? It just adds clutter without much chance of being used. As well I don't know exactly why but right before I hit reply it had 'overflow'd' to two lines.
PS: Woot! One thousandth post!

There is no page titled "Sid_Meier's_Railroads".
No more Wiki?

In the upper right corner is a box that reads "Other destinations...". Click on the arrow and you will find it at the bottom.

Note: this and lower posts have been edited. To far off subject.

Large jpg's
You will not see this with newly posted images anymore. Images will be thumbnailed when they are posted. Only the old ones show full size. (feel free to repost your images) :)

Opera
Sorry but we cannot test and support all browsers. Opera is a minor player that have nothing to add to the world that Mozilla and/or IE aren't already adding. Because of that, they will remain small. I admire their tenacity, but it ain't happening.

Check: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

Then go:
http://www.mozilla.org

Links at the top of the page
I know for a fact that they -are- being used. :) Remember the problems that we had with the weird error message after posting? They happened because people had subscribed to the topic.

Wiki
Wiki will return, it's in the design we made before we created the template but somehow forgotten when we put the stuff into HTML. In the mean time, the pull down menu in the top-right will help you out. :)

Oh I wasn't suggesting to remove the subscribe link, I myself use that one sometimes. But if they are being used then thats good. Its just that one time the layout was throw off by them.

Yup, I've shortened the text a little bit. Shouldn't happen anymore now.

Great new look. But why all the Bots? Like, Google [Bot] Google Adsense [Bot] Yahoo [Bot] They are spies. Every post they show up on search engines. :(

Oh thats nothing, I once was a member of a forum which always had FBI,NSA,CIA bots trawling it. You see the site was for a mod based off of the old red alert game, anyways all the mentions of soviets likely set off the bots.

They were always there. What is changed is that the forum now shows that they are online. And they're 'good people'. How else do new members find us? :)
