NO game can compare to the greatness of Railroads! A bright light from the heavens has been shined on this game. It is holy and blessed.

Civ 4, Galactic Civ 2 and um,,, well theirs pirates.

I agree with the Civ games, also Alpha Centauri, and Port Royale, which is one of my all-time favorites (a pirate themed economic sim that has sucked away many hours of my life).

Starcraft - Favourite of all time
Command and conquer
Company of heroes
rise of legends
empire earth
rise of nations

I can keep going with strategies / Real time Strategies if you want me to

The people playing SMR most likely are not thinking of it as an RTS.

Agreed, I've just discovered Port Royale, excellent strategy game with budget price!
Playing this now as I can't get Railroads to run!... Other post...
