Let’s clarify things. 1.Is your AI player set? You have to do it at the start of the map. (See picture) 2.There are no AI players in “Train Table” settings. 3. Which map are you trying to play?? Some maps are just not suitable to have AI players. 4.There is some time delay for the AI. player to start.

You will need a paint program that will handle DDS files. I am using Gimp with a DDS plugin. It is free and a pretty good program.

I presume that your map has a random setting. The AI decides how many industries will show up in the map and where. The numbers and locations will change at the whim of Mr. AI. You made me curious. I can put this line in an individual city (like Seattle or Paris), and it will show up, <szLandmark>BuildingUS_SpaceNeedle.nif</szLandmark> but it will not work with city types. Yes you can do that. It is actually the numbering that counts: 0, 1………10, 11, etc. You can name them anything you want. I had maps with 12 cities. I don’t really know what’s the upper limit. You can change the number of building in each city size. I normally reduce them because when the cities grow ...
