Re: Looking for someone to cobble together a model.
Thanks guys! I lost patience with Blender, but may take another crack at it soon. 3D Modeling requires more time and patience than I'm willing to commit to at this point. I took a break for a bit, but should get back on this soon. I'm still hoping that someone (not me) decides to tackle a DDA40X loc...

Re: Utah: Treasure House, development thread.
I played around with the terrainmap of my copper pits for a bit, and here's what I came up with: bingham-pit.jpg At some point, I'll have to figure out how to move the copper(coal) mine building off center, so that it isn't buried in the middle like it is now, but I like it so far. It looks more or ...

Re: Utah: Treasure House, development thread.
I pissed off Railroads, and broke my scenario. After a few tries, I finally managed to find a backup that I could work from, and I am in the midst of rebuilding. I'm backing up my user/game folder more often now as I go along, so I don't have to go back so far next time. Also, my xml editor seems to...

Re: Utah: Treasure House, development thread.
Quick update. Here's a comparison of the original Utah map thumbnail versus the revised one. Keep in mind that the new map is 18x18, or 10% smaller than the old one, despite the thumbnails being the same size. UtahEpicVsTreasure.jpg I'm slowly figuring out Blender for my water tower. I've been havin...

Re: Looking for someone to cobble together a model.
I'm still looking for an appropriate model for a Frontier Town/Depot Annex, but in the meantime I downloaded Blender and took a crack at a water tower. If you know of an appropriate model for a frontier town, I'd love to know about it! This Blender took me some time to figure out... watertower wip.j...

Utah: Treasure House, development thread.
Utah: Treasure House Map development thread. Hey y'all! I am currently working on a new scenario based on Universum & Karsten's The Epic History Of Utah map. So far, I've resized the map in two respects: First, map size has been reduced to 18x18. With all of the custom assets and track routes that ...

Looking for someone to cobble together a model.
Hey guys! I am working on a new, fairly large (18x18) map, and have need of a new annex model. I'm introducing whistle stops, which are frontier terminals for less populated areas. These will produce a light assortment of goods, as the locals in the area deliver their goods to the station for sale i...

Re: Modeltrainman's Real Year Mod for SMR
I've been adjusting some locomotive stats for my scenario, and came across this thread. I just did a quick test (a Wells to Ely run, 8 food/fast freight), with two trains. I mixed in some flat with some moderate and extremely steep grades up and down between Wells and Ely. No curves below 200 MPH on...

bRequired tag - what is it for?
Hey y'all! I'm currently adding some victory conditions to a map, and I'm curious as to what the bRequired tag does. So far, I haven't noticed any instances where it was set any other value than 1... Also, if you have multiple victory conditions in a given era, is there a way to set this so that you...

Union Pacific 150th Anniversary!
Yep, Union Pacific was formed in 1862!!! http://up150.com/ Looks like as good an excuse as any to make something special to mark the occasion. Unfortunately, my modeling skills are nonexistent. Maybe I'll play with the 4-4-0 skins or something and see what I can come up with. I am tinkering with the...

Re: New users cannot make new topics
Nice forum y'all have here! Posting here as requested, to verify my human nature. I've been doing some modification of Universum's Utah map, and have some questions. I've added some new industries, cities and such, to make it more interesting and to enhance the historical flavor of the scenario; spe...
